Mustek unveils 40GB PVR-H240 Plus PMP
We've serious doubts about Mustek's ability to make any sort of noticeable splash in the portable media player market, but it's giving it a go regardless. The PVR-H240 Plus (apparently rebadged as the Yukai PVR-H240 elsewhere) handles video / audio playback, voice recording, and video recording, and also doubles as a fairly capacious 40GB external hard drive when not occupied with media. Additionally, it features a 2.4-inch LCD, MMC / SD card slot, NTSC and PAL compatibility, AV in / out, a headphone jack, USB 2.0 connectivity, and a rechargeable battery to boot. No word on price nor availability at the moment, but it's pretty unlikely you'll mind after taking a mere glimpse at this unsightly piece.

Sweet 4:3 screen ratio. This is the future.

The Yukai version of this was on Woot for $99.99 last month.

This is really old news. Bought one Yukai for recording my RC Heli Videos. Works awesome.

Yep, old news. Engadget seems to be trying to catch up to PMP news. There's not much PMP news on a weekly basis unless you get it from China.

Ugh, can't stand large black borders around a tiny screen. Just like those pathetic digital photo frames, who do these companies think they're fooling?

This looks like the back of a cheap digital camera.

Anything that says "PERSONAL MEDIA CENTER" right under the display deserves only one thing... instant recycling.

This product sucks, i bought the one of woot for $100 and hated it. It is very slow, seems extremely buggy and there are much better products out there for less money.
