I did notice that. That's really a decent selling point for apple, and I'm impressed. I am glad they left it on.

I dont understand this blending stuff, dont batteries explode and shit. I mean theres probably a capacitor or something in there that explodes, potentially dangerous.

@Nomi, there is one Will It Blend where the victim (I forget what it was) does explode. You see sparks fly and the lid even forces Dickson's hand up a bit. I think it's in the opening sequence of most of the older Will It Blends.
I noticed with the iPhone that towards the end, everything suddenly went black. Seems like something in there exploded and a whole lot of fine black powder came out. Maybe the battery?
As someone has done a lot of "destructive testing" on batteries, I think I can pretty confidently say that the "black ash" IS the battery, mostly the carbon substrate of a presumably Li solid polymer battery (just my guess).... AND you definitely should not breath that sh*t since the electrolyte contains some very nasty organic solvents.
gosh what an amazing blender. blend-tec must make top quality blenders if it can blend an iphone. i think instead of $600 on an iphone, i'm going to buy as many blend-tec blenders as i can.

For those of you complaining about the "expensive" iPhone, he put a $599 iPhone in a $399 blender...
Yeah, but that $399 blender is significantly better than competing models, and it does things they can't. As opposed to a $599 phone that can't even record video or use custom ringtones.

Unlike many of those other expensive phones, the iPhone is an actual general-purpose computer that can be upgraded in software.
...and it's still enough easier to use than ALL of the others that the only game they can play is "checklist the features, even though the other phones suck so bad in usability that they might as well not have those things."
Web browsing, for example. I've done head-to-head browsing with other users with those "list" phones, and the guys had so much trouble getting them to work at all they might as well not call them "smartphones."
If the whole video was real (there was some editing) it's kinda creepy to think the entire case save the bezel was reduced to a toxic black powder.
That blender can handle pretty much everything. I agree that it was edited (I think they had it complete the 1 minute smoothie cycle, but cut it down to about a minute in slo-mo), but the blender has ripped apart just about everything else. Amateurs also have played around with the blender- you can find those on youtube too.
I looked for it on eBay and was disappointed..
IMO...anyone who enjoys this should get a life. I watched it out of curiousity, that stupid guy\blenderer should have donated the cost of that iphone to charity or pay a hooker and get laid, looks like he hasnt in awhile!
You've obviously have not followed the "Will it Blend" videos. They've blended pretty much anything that would fit in the blender. People request for different things to get blended.
Next time I'm in the market for a blender. And I have 500 bucks laying around. I'm picking up one of those blenders.
My only question is if he has been using the same blender all this time or if they have switched it out with each different thing that they've blended.

I just hope he used that crack that was floating around that allowed you to use the ipod features w/out activating the iPhone and signing up for a plan with AT&T. Otherwise, than iPhone cost them a lot more than $600.

These guys got in a segment on Good Morning America. Who ever came up with this is a marketing genius. Sure it cost money to make the commercial but they don't have to pay a dime to get people to run it.
It's awesome watching the instant replay - how first the phone just swishes around, then it starts scraping all the little particles off, then the touch screen splits, and then ALL OUT DESTRUCTION!
That was just awesome.
I'm surprised that the front split off so perfectly, and that the black smoke was so thick. Yes, it felt good to watch, but it all seems almost fake!

This is the best guerrilla marketing campaign ever! They've got dozens of these videos on their website to show off their blenders.

the "Will It Blend" series of videos is the marketing scheme for those blenders... and as you can see from all these comments on just one website, I'd say they're certainly getting their money's worth.

Their products are well thought out, simple to use and "sexy".
Now this is coming from someone that has been using and earning a living supporting Windows hardware and software for about 10 years and continuing. I am definitely buying the 2nd generation iPhone and hopefully awaiting the Mac Mini Core2Duo.
