YouTube-enabled LG KU990 shows up online
It looks like LG is getting set to release a new Prada-esque keypad-less phone, with its hereto unheard of KU990 model recently landing in the hands of the folks at Clipset.net. Apparently, this is one of the forthcoming YouTube-enabled handsets recently mentioned by the company, meaning that it'll not only be able to play YouTube videos but let users submit videos to the site straight from the phone as well. Otherwise, the phone's big selling points are its ample 5-megapixel camera and HSDPA connectivity, not to mention its sizeable 3-inch touchscreen. Rounding out the specs, you'll get a built-in FM radio, MP3 player, microSD card slot, and an array of pre-loaded applications, including the Muvee video editing app. No word on pricing or availability, though it certainly doesn't seem like it's all that far off. Hit up the link below for more pics and a video showing off the phone from every angle.

yea i have an iPod touch
it may not have the phone or camera feature
but everything else
about it is the exact same as the iPhone aaand
the screen is completely scratch resistant...
it may smudge, but you can wipe that off
ive taken a pencil, a key, and a thumbtack to the screen.
and still no scratches...what about the viewty?
b/c i really wanna get one of those...it looks amazing. is it coming out in America?
also,
i agree with a lot of people about the stupid iPhone
i may have an iPod touch, but i dont brag about it
i dont show it off, im only 16. i mean, its not like the world really cares right? i hate it when stupid normal people with their pointless little iPhones try to show it off. i mean, on the Touch, you make one payment. thats the inital price of the damn thing.
on the stupid phone, you have to make like, over $100.00 on the thing just to get the better features monthly. i'd be money that this lg phone will completely blow away the stupid iPhone when it hits America(if it hasnt already...im not sure) soooo yea
boo on the iPhone
(no im not an apple nerd, but i do like the ipod)
so if Apple does it, everyone should?
Is that the thinking in the industry?
I would never buy an Apple product but I'd consider buying one of these if I could get it on Cingular (replace my Blackberry).
I think I'll wait for MOTOROLA's answer to the Iphone.
FYI, this came out earlier than iPhone, although it was not introduced to the U.S. until now.
You moron, Big.
The full specs of the LG touchscreen phone were released to the public a year before anyone knew the iPhone existed. Christ, it even won an international design competition four months before the iPhone was announced.
More iRevisionism. Not long now before some fanboy tries to claim that Apple invented the internet.
Yeah, sure you knew the LG came first. That's why you said
"so if Apple does it, everyone should?"
Moron.
Don't be a fool... everyone knows Al Gore invented the Internet :)
AND he defeated ManBearPig
iWhat?
if it's on verizon... it'll be replacing my VX9400... assuming that this "iPhone nano" thing isn't real and/or it isn't gonna be on the Verizon network.
FYI: Previous LG Prada is about $700, I bet this new model will be even more expensive.
just overhype it lg... you'll sell it at an outrageous price... besides, include evdo rev-a.. multi-format playback... and outlook as well as exchange support and my motorola q gets retired.
At least there's no designer brand attached, let's hope this helps in keeping the price down
Ok - so it runs extremely similar software to the Prada phone.
Which SUCKS ASS as a touchscreen phone.
One to ignore.

Well 'Big' - I wasn't even responding to your comment, I was talking about the phone itself.
Dumbass.

watch who you call names cause you probably couldn't hold a candle to me from behind that pc monitor in yo mama's basement.
I know the LG model was designed earlier and I know about the lawsuit.
Take your gadget nerd ass to a kindergarten.
the girl in that video was pretty hot. girls that know their tech gadgets is always a plus in my book ;)
Does anyone notice or care that the touch screen and graphical elements on this and the Prada phone are slow as hell? I hate that cellphone technology hasn't stepped up to the plate as far as UI performance until now (iphone), but despite the flashy exterior and new features the UI speed would have me dashing it onto the pavement in no time flat.
Ok, pack all the features of a desktop workstation into a phone, but you better pack some UI performance in as well. Otherwise you might as well run Crysis in software mode on your 486SX.
Sure ATT edge bites nuts but at least I'm not waiting for the UI to catch up as I'm adding contacts to my phone or performing everyday tasks, ala every phone that's come out up until this point.
Downvoted for being a link to your crappy website, which just linkjacks and steals pics from other people to gain site traffic. Lame.
Now you are aware that the Prada version of this handset was MORE than the iPhone right? Minus the money you spend on the Prada name but plus some improved specs, it looks like this phone will probably be around the same price as the iPhone. Also, many (read: everyone who owns an iPhone) has successfully put "their own" mp3's and videos on the phone.
Oh I forgot to mention that the WiFi is completely free to use (ie not "locked down crippled"). I may be incorrect in my assumption, but I think that a good number of cell phones limit the WiFi abilities of their phone?
Hmmm... That's quite a chunky little monkey of a phone.
Well if it's the same size as the LG Prada, it really isn't all that big at all. I was surprised just how slim and light it is.
However, it's not. Even the Slashphone reviewer "dislikes the thickness" of the phone.
not sure if Prada will be around much longer, but I can def. see SE and Nokia putting out better efforts to tackle the iPhone.
Well, I would rather see what Apple could put out there to tackle SE and Nokia top phones. You know, with the iPhone being 3-4 years behind in most areas and such.
Yes argot, in most areas it is 3-4 years behind. So I'm assuming you're talking about the ability to customize ringtones, maybe send MMS' but that's probabyl about it. 3-4 years ago I don't think 3G was really popular (seeing as in the US it still isn't that popular) so you can't be talking about the lack of 3G... the battery life is much better than most smartphones today (so most likely much better than 3-4 year-old smartphones), so you can't be talking about the battery... hmm, maybe you're talking about the audio and video capabilities of the iphone... nah, they're much better than a lot of current phones and certainly better than 3-4 year-old phones. So what is it then? Let's hear these "most areas" you're talking about...
its usual to link with the original source... ;)

You Apple nerds are such sheep. Apple could put out a turd with an Apple logo on it & every Apple fanboy would spend their savings on it.
Bottom line:......The iPhone sucks!! Just face it. Apple made it sound as if they were going to revolutionize the mobile phone industry.
All they did was put out a lackluster, mediocre feature packed piece of crap.
I am so sick of hearing about the iPhone. I 1 year's time it will be just a fart in the wind. The only thing Apple will do to "update" it's iPhone is release it with a bigger memory.
Apple sucks....This LG phone blows it away. They had the touchscreen UI on their phones even before Apple put out the Nano. Do some research fanboy's...then come correct.
Nerds.
Yep, LG KU990 is really good. Iphone lacks many features. Its the brand that makes it work. There is high brand fidelity. But LG has got class, performance and design and a small piece of work in the mobile industry is the LG KU990. More to come guys..
