That statement clearly signifies why we can't trust Sony. Sony US announced a price drop, but Sony JP might not have been clear that the drop is only until the stock of 60gb PS3's is gone (like everyone is figuring).
Either way, they've still got one 499 SKU and one 599 SKU (once the new PS3 model comes out) so nothing has really changed. For what it's worth, Sony seems content to keep the 499 SKU a rarity and push the 599 SKU with all their might. It's a mistake, in my opinion.
