Mustek intros TRAVELFOTO photo frame / alarm clock

It looks like those still clinging onto their travel alarm clocks from the eighties may finally have cause to upgrade, as Mustek has now seen fit to update the tried and true design with a built-in digital picture frame. Dubbed the TRAVELFOTO, the device packs a 1.5-inch, 128 x 128 resolution CSTN LCD color screen, along with enough flash memory to store 70 JPEG or BMP photos of your choosing (no MP3 support, it seems). On the other end of the equation, Mustek says that the device has a buzzer loud enough to "wake up even the heaviest sleeper" -- something we'll have to hear to believe. Look for this one to set you back about $40 when it rolls out sometime next month.

now seen tit to update
HAHA! TIT!
weeee
titmouse... teehehehehehe
have one already. picture quality is so so
given to me as a gift
Ditto, got it as a corporate branded giveaway - kinda cool, for free. Lousy quality though, would never pay $40 for it.
yah, i dont understand what's new about that, i've had one sitting on my desk for months (if not a year) as was part of a corporate giveaway as well.
it's pretty cool that you dont have to use a battery to power it (it can be powered over usb) but it's not the most exciting gizmo.
the quality is pretty good for what it is but $40 is completely excessive.
oh, and it's a pain in the butt to program so i doubt anyone would be using it as an alarm clock
128x128? 1.5"? uhm, that's very small heh.
My 3-years old Nokia had the same 128x128 resolution and screen size, pretty useless as a picture viewer.
Paying $40 for super-old technology? meh...
Mymemory.co.uk sells them for £17.99 + 3.95 p&p
I bought some of these for family at last Christmas-- certainly not new - been available for at least 8 months. They are ok - certainly wouldn't suggest anyone rushes to get one.
Hardly breaking news though
My GF got it for free at work. Pretty crappy little thing and ain't worth $40. In fact I don't know why this is even on Engadget. The buttons are cryptic, its near impossible to set the alarm, and the back light it more vanity then useful.
