GlobalSat, purveyors of fine GPS-related products such as a stylish
GPS watch and the child-tracking, parent-worrying
GPS "phone", has launched a new Bluetooth receiver sure to make your teeth chatter with excitement. The BT-359C is the latest and greatest the California-based company has on offer, featuring a
SiRF Star III low-power chipset, Bluetooth 2.0, and a built-in ceramic patch antenna. The receiver can be coupled to PDAs, or laptops via its "Serial Port Profile", and provides faster acquisition times and improved accuracy in "urban canyons" (which we're pretty sure is fancy GPS-speak for "cities"). The BT-359C will be sold at AT&T retail locations, and is available now online for $159.99.

I might be wrong on this, but is this really new? I've had a BT-359 since November of 2006. I got it in a kit for my Treo 700wx. Also, for the price, I think they go for around $89.

Yep, been using one of these with my VZ Treo 750 for a few months now. I installed the Tom Tom software on my Treo and it rocks.

It seems the only difference is the letter at the end of the model number 'C' as opposed to 'W'. There is no difference in the specs of price from what I can see comparing the two product pages, it might just be a newer firmware for it.
Either way, as I just ordered the 359W on thursday, I will be shipping it back for the 359C.

I have one of these units, it works great. I've had it for several months now, it's not all that new. I got it from Cingular for $99, I sincerely hope AT&T didn't raise the price to $159, I imagine that would make some people angry.
The C and W model differences are the case design. The C is plain, the W, or "Wave", has a bunch of circles on the cover.

Everyone is OEMing this Bluetooth GPS. Telenav sells it on their site for $99, RIM is now selling it as a BlackBerry OEM device.
