Acer and HP keep the lawsuits flying

It looks like Acer has had enough of HP's ongoing claims of patent infringement, as the company's now countered HP's lawsuits with a patent suit of its own. While details are light, Acer's apparently alleging that HP infringed on its patents relating to "DVD ROM head technologies," and it's asking the District Court for the Eastern District of Texas to sort things out. This follows two different lawsuits filed against Acer by HP, which contended that the company violated a number of HP patents for various technologies, both cases of which are still unresolved. No word as to when this latest suit will end up in court, but we somehow suspect this won't be the last we hear form the two companies.

Fight patent lawsuits with more patent patent lawsuits. All those law suits are just completely insane. I'm going to send my mom to the government so she can sort things out. "YOU TWO STOP FIGHTING NOW!"
I say.

Why don't we just give each CEO a gun and go old-school with a good ole duel? It's cheaper and reduces the number of overpaid CEOs by one (maybe two)
