Does this phone run on a Sprint compatible network?
It's not as if I would ever expect Sprint to release a cool phone (haha!), just curious.
Sprint does not use GSM and thus this phone would not work on the Sprint Network. It would however work on AT&T and T-Mobile though not the 3G part since the UMTS part only utlizes European Bands and does not provide support for the US Bands.
I even remember the first Triband GSM Phone from Ericsson that allowed international GSM Roaming. They shouldn't release business 3G phones that aren't capable of roaming on 3G properly... I guess European's are stuck to EDGE in the US when they visit with most 3G phones from Europe.
That is one sexy fone. Kinda bulky but it's the real Jesus phone.
You guys are so lucky, I want this phone so bad... It'll be one of the first things I buy when I get my real job (hopefully soon)
I really wish it had Video out and a bit better camera (the colors are a bit disappointing, but the video is good)
Then all I have do is wait for flash lite 3 and i'll be in heaven = ]
Be aware that there has been serious design flaw in E90 -series where the keybord is scratching the screen when
lid is closed. I quess Nokia QA has failed big time.
Some of the pictures what has happened:

it looks to me that there is a screen protector on that phone... which is something I would do to that screen, but that extra millimeter could be causing all the issues with scratches.
(notice the dirt around the edges of the screen... clear sign of screen protector.)
No it isn't. The text in finnish states that person had cleaned the screen with spray before
taking the pictures, that's why there is some dust on the sides. Not a single case, lot's of more
pictures about it in the net and people returning their phones.
The same thing happened to my Nokia N71. It's actually pretty bad and it's a well known problem with the N71's.
hmm well its a first time i hear about this prob thought.
Btw why didnt engadget report about Nokias Q2 report...it has done so with other manuf and after all Nokia is the biggest as this phones shows ;)
From what I have read this only happens with the Red color E90. The Mocha color one has bigger rubber bumps that separate the screen and the keyboard more.
So much mis-information, as usual.
The keyboard does touch the screen for both colours. The redesign case, again for both colours, seems to work for most people. I have added a screen protector - no actual damage just the transfer of a little grease from the keys from my fingers to the screen. Otherwise the is a wonderful Smartphone and the 3.5G really makes this a handy business tool. And yes the video recording is so good I don't use my camcorder.
Quote: "... rumor has it Nokia should be launching it stateside within a couple months."
Yeah, by that time, the phone would be considered old by the rest of the world. Hopefully they do release a US 3G version that's a bit better (SirfStar III maybe?). Nonetheless, I already own the phone, but I am willing to pour in more cash for another if it kicks more butt.
And my screen does not scratch. Stop applying pressure to the top and you will have no problems. Some laptops have screens that have scuff marks from the screen touching the keyboard, usually the result of pressure from the behind the display downward.
Question for BFish: Do you own the phone yourself or have you been looking at just pictures?
"Yeah, by that time, the phone would be considered old by the rest of the world."
Hardly. Plus so what? It would still kick ass here in the US, which is what would matter. Btw, it is cheaper to buy it here through Dell than in many EU countries right now, thanks to the over-valued dollar.. :)
Yes, it is cheaper with Dell.com however they do not have a set date on when the items are available. I have an order that was done on July 12 and will not receive until September 10. And that is only an estimated date since Nokia has not released the US Version.
Hi,
Does someone know if the outer screen is made of sapphir glass as the Nokia 8800 is ? If it is, that makes the outer screen quite impossible to scratch.
Thanks
