XM announces split-screen XpressRC radio
While we're a bit skeptical of the company's claims to "redefine the listening experience," XM's new XpressRC radio does indeed look to be fairly impressive as far as satellite radios go, with it boasting a full-color split-screen display among other notable new features. That screen will let you view information for your current channel on the left side, while letting you browse up to three other channels on the right side. Apart from that, the radio will give you a 60-minute buffer to let you pause and replay programming, and you'll be able to store up to ten of your favorite songs with the new "Songsaver" feature. As with other satellite radios, you'll also be able to move it between vehicles, and make use of various docks and speaker systems for a little out-of-vehicle listening. Look for this one to set you back $170 when it rolls out this fall.

THL may or may not appreciate that I don't blatantly go about posting the same catch phrase everywhere.

On one hand, it's business as usual. But given the Sirius merger deal (which is taking longer than it it should), perhaps the XM logo should be user replaceable. I know it's a small detail, but to me, it's the details that matter.

Uh, it's been reported that the new company will likely keep the XM name, or less likely, become XM Sirius. XM will get top billing because of name recogntion.

Hello Sexy!
I wont be retiring my Inno for it, but i do like it.
Easily the nicest Plug and Play sat radio ever. And the features sound great.
Good job XM, dont merge with that other company!

As someone who's never had a satellite radio, I'd like to know if this or any radio would ever support wireless transfer of metadata. For example, if I had a Bluetooth phone I could pull the song title and artist to store for later reference. Anyone know anything about this?
Scott @ Aug 13th 2007 3:49PM
Charonzen, nope no sat radio will do that.
With my Inno and my Myfi i can "bookmark" songs, artists and song + artist. Not only keeps a list of those but also will alert me when they are playing.

I hope this unit will work with current unit docks, like the one for the current Xpress radio which I currently have :)
