Creative continues to roll out its
X-Fi audio enhancement technology across its product line, this time in the latest addition to the Aurvana headphone line. The
noise-canceling headphones rock the classic DJ style and feature a frequency response of 20Hz - 20kHz, as well side-mounted controls for the X-Fi modes, which Creative claims restores audio information lost during digital compression. No word on pricing or availability, but Creative isn't shy about getting its products out there, so chances are you'll know when these things hit.

Um, most DJs i know prefer to only have one ear covered to make beat matching easier. Even if they do cover both ears, whats the point of canceling out the outside world if you still have to turn the vol up on the song you're playing AND the song you're cueing up. whats the point?

And those are DJ headphones ? Ha. Good one. But sorry..no, I'll not throw my Technics RP-DJ1200A away for that :)

Shouldn't a DJ want headphones that make the music sound the same as the speakers he is playing on? If the headphone monitors have this X-Fi 'enhancement' and the rest of the audio equipment doesn't, people will hear something completely different than what the DJ hears.

You guys are idiots, aren't.
They're DJ style.
They are not being marketed to DJ's, but to people who enjoy wearing DJ style headphones (Like me).
melloncollie @ Aug 18th 2007 9:06AM
And I'm talking about the first three commenters.
Bad Beaver @ Aug 18th 2007 9:26AM
True. DJs would never waste money on stuff like this, especially if it came with some pseudo-enhancing bs. They'd rather get a Sennheiser HD25 or so.

I think they're competing with those high-priced noise-canceling headphones from a company that rhymes with hose.
The are NOT intended for DJs, more so the traveling public aboard loud aircraft who want nice comfortable earcups to block out the screaming babies and the guy in the row behind you who is listening to music on his cellphone so everyone can hear him.
djgrind45 @ Aug 18th 2007 10:42AM
i like the wireless ideia becuase as a dj my self wires are starten to piss me off and the noise canceling means i wouldent have to blast them to listen over my big speaker system a good paire would do but thes dont even swivill wtf but they are pretty nice if u just wana listen to music

Yeah, these are consumer headphones, not pro or semi-pro. Stop taking everything literally! In case you didn't notice, it said DJ 'style' not DJ model. Besides, if the phones swivel enough they can be used for that purpose. DJ headphones come in one and two phone versions.
shamrock593 @ Aug 18th 2007 1:06PM
Can someone who is more knowledgeable about headphones than me please give an approximate price? Are we talking $250-300 or $100 mark? Ta.
JeffM @ Aug 18th 2007 2:00PM
Hopefully they support Vista better than Creative's Audigy and X-Fi soundcards!! ;)
kickenchicken @ Aug 19th 2007 1:44PM
