Keepin' it real fake, part LXXI: X-Game 360 doesn't play Halo
Most people pop across the border for a good time. Engadget editors interpret that good time as a chance to check out rip offs like this $28 "X-Game 360." No bonus points here for spotting the inspiration behind this KIRF. All we wanna know is, what're the chances it comes with HDMI?

Nice, its sitting next to the PowerStation2
LOL
But does it play DOOM?
retard
Darn, my comments always get low rank. Am i really that bad?
YES
No bad. Old. Work on some new material.
does this come equipped with RROD??
It gives RROD randomly for imitative purposes but it doesn't actually break down. This thing certainly isn't that advanced.
Does it play Doom?
I think the real question is, will it blend?
Yes indeed. Blender is awesome.
I wouldn't touch a 360 or a Wii with a ten foot pole. You simply do not own the hardware. With a PS3 or a PC, you own the hardware.
In fact, my next PC might be a PS3. I'm considering that very seriously. With some bluetooth wiimotes.... Oh yeah, running Ubuntu studio, probably. Nice black theme to match the hardware.
It'd be like a Mac, except... oh nevemind. Just the elegance.
@ethana2
What the hell are you rambling about?
How do I not own my Wii?
I think he means.... I don't know what he means.
Good luck with your PC PS3, with 256MB of effective RAM.
ethana2: "You simply do not own the hardware. With a PS3 or a PC, you own the hardware." Huh??? That comment makes absolutely no sense. I noticed the time you posted was 3:45am. Were you fully awake when you posted that comment? If so--not sure how to respond, but um, have fun with idea that a PS3 can also replace your PC altogether.
I wonder how many red rings it'll take for this thing to break down...
Todo en un lugar HEB LOL. Heb sells this garbage.
And they even keep out off reach, its behind a window.
-from a mexican user
Dollar fitty says it doesn't run as hot as a 360 tho.
Excuse my ignorance, but how did someone get $28? I assume that is 28 USD, but the picture shows 299.90; of course that is in Mexican currency, pesos. According to Google Calculator "299.90 Mexican pesos = 26.8059617 U.S. dollars." Then you might say, "Well the exchange rate fluctuates." For the price to be exactly 28 USD then the conversion rate would have to be 0.0933644548 USD to Pesos, and it peaked at a rate close to that on June 1 and has declined ever since.
I know it's splitting hairs, but someone else is bound to notice it.
(And I realize someone most likely rounded up the price from 27.5ish or so which makes the exchange rate about 0.0916972324 at the time of the conversion, but it's 0.0898311. Get with it ;p)
Didn't mean to reply at you. Sorry.
Sorry, but no one cares Mark S.
W. T. F.
I love the lack of transcendence of your post ^__^
The sad thing is that it probably is more reliable then the real 360. I wonder if you can accidentally breathe on this without the unit scratching the disc?
Going on TWO YEARS and I've never had a scratched disc, freeze, or overheating problem. My 360 barely gets warm.
What are you people DOING to your consoles to make them such a mess?
ZeroCorpse. You apparently haven't been paying attention to the reports. Its a certain %. Not ZOMG! 100% failure rate! DOOOOOOOMED! Please people. Grow a clue before you post.
LMAO.
Zero please, don't be so ignorant. I thought just like you because I kept my 360 in perfect condition and took great care of it for like 1.5 years, then all of a sudden it just started freezing and I got the 3 RROD. SO don't give me that bull, mine broke for no reason too. How does a console work perfectly for 1.5 years and then just die one day? You tell me.
My God people get over it! All electronics break! In fact, all things break! Xbox 360s break, PS3s break and your computer... breaks! It doesn't matter how much you pay for something there is still a chance it will break and that risk grows with the more copies of it that are made. Ever see the maintenance/repairs on a BMW? What about Lexus and Toyotas? Pull your heads out of your asses and go outside once in a while. I don't think we need 90% of the engadget commenting "elite" to point out the red rings and defective points of EVERY single story.
Well, when something breaks that quickly, it's a bit of a problem. Computers are more mass-produced than X-Boxes, but I have yet to hear about a line of computers that has that many problems. Yes, some of them are gonna be crap, that's to be expected. But they had a hell of a lot more than 'some' from the reports I saw.
Umm.... Dude I own both PS3 and Xbox 360 and 4 computers. You are right to a point. PS3 has never broke but my last PS2 didn't last a little over a year, my Mac Mini DVD drive went bad, my Dell Laptop was incorrectly made with a flawed design in cooling so it's impossible to run Windows on it for more than 20 - 30 mins at a time (Linux runs fine) and a new silver iMac which has yet to break down. However, I understand like you that stuff breaks no matter what you pay or who makes it. However, my Xbox 360 is the biggest dissapointment of them all. I got 3 red lights not 4 months after I bought it. Called Microcrap up and what do they say? Ship it to us at MY cost (by the way we're not responsible for it if it gets lost or stolen in the mail, so tack on some insurance) and we'll fix it. Well they did fix it. Sort of, they fixed the red lights but my DVD drive still made a grinding noise. So I put it off till about a month ago and sent it back in. This time they sent me a box and paid the shipping, and gave me a month free on XBox Live which I complained about the first time. So, once I'll give you a freebie if you do what's right and fix my stuff for FREE including paying the shipping. A second time after I already told you there was a problem thats just crappy service and a crappy product. And the best part this Indian (from India whose probably never seen an Xbox360) argued with me saying that the drive is supposed to make that noise grinding noise. The best part, nothing like hearing those fans and disc spinning while enjoying your gaming. Funny my PS3 doesn't make all that freaking noise.
Holy crap we got a live one here! Move aside, people! Rabid MSFT fan here!
Careful not to get bit. Serious cases of MSFT rabies can cause symptoms as severe as ZUNE tattoos. There currently is no cure. Please give generously.
Yes, yes, rabid Microsoft fanatic here. Surely that would explain why I encourage everyone I know that is computer shopping to buy a Mac to own a computer without all the Windows drama, own a Macbook Pro, have two ipods and an Apple Airport Extreme router. I guess that makes me an Apple fanboy too. Oh, and I tell everyone shopping for a tv or printers what a great electronics company Samsung is and I own a Samsung LCD and Samsung laser printer. I also tell everyone shopping for digital cameras or printers Canon makes great digital cameras and decent inkjet printers and happen to own both. I guess that makes me a Samsung and Canon fanboy too! Please stop, you're killing me with your intellect.
Agreed
@Cykeo: Your post made my day. Thank you.
Guys, you better watch out. Some girls.. some girls are only about that thing, that thing, that thing. That thing, that thing, that thing-iii-iing.
