Blinged out iPod Shuffle doesn't come cheap
For the small price of 248,000 Norwegian Kroner (around $40,000) you can pick up a concentrated mix of gold, diamonds, and... iPod Shuffle. There's not a lot more to this blinged out creation: why anyone would want to place forty gees worth of precious carbon on a $99 gadget, we'll never know.

especially weird since they used the old style headphones...
Matt @ Aug 20th 2007 12:30AM
What's up with the old earbuds?
Pat H @ Aug 20th 2007 12:34AM
Wow, you'd think for that much cash they'd at least pick a decent pair of earbuds to load up with all those diamonds.
John @ Aug 20th 2007 10:08AM
That was exactly what I was thinking!
Christopher Powers @ Aug 20th 2007 12:37AM
And to think, I'm getting my 2nd shuffle this week after turning my house upside down after missing the first one after my recent trip out of town. I'm not sure if left it in the hotel, in my baggage or lost it somewhere between there and here...

just because they can, doesn't mean they should!

true but that doesn't mean they won't

It always keep me wonder about those Blinged tech stuffs. They are jewelery with gadget function or gadgets with diamonds? Gadgets will out dates every 4 month (including system, design, user interface...), what about those blinged stuffs? What's the point of having a out dated gadget even if it is made of gold and diamond? Waste of diamond or it is a smart move?
AKBlade13 @ Aug 20th 2007 1:09AM
Why doesn't anyone have common sense and instead bling out a regular iPod video. Not saying that this isn't nice, but...I easily max out quadruple of the iPod Shuffles.

I am a starving man in Africa.. please cash in that device and help me eat.
fraggle_rocker @ Aug 20th 2007 8:03AM
Maybe you should try get your government to stop buying weapons and feed you instead..
And maybe the diamonds came from africa, so maybe some people over there got a cut already.
Or maybe if every single person of african descent gave a couple of dollars to help out, you wouldn't be starving.
But at the end of the day, if people are comfortable spending money they earned on things like this, more power to them.
ps, im aware youre probably not african and were probably just trying to make a statement.

Ok. I may need to explain something to all the guys out there.
This Ipod is every girls dream gift. It would be something that we would show to everyone around us, the envy of all the other girls.
This = bedroom action for the guy.
Would i need to say more?
:)
Austin @ Aug 20th 2007 1:51AM
That kind of gift don't mean anything. I'll stick with cutting holes in boxes.
Tom @ Aug 20th 2007 1:53AM
It's girls like you that are the downfall of our society.
"GUYS, SPEND MONEY ON US AND WE'LL HAVE SEX WITH YOU"
Angela @ Aug 20th 2007 2:00AM
Guys, relax.
If i had the money i would buy it myself.
This IPOD is like a bracelet or a ring, but i can't use rings and i think bracelets are uncomfortable.
I think is a cool gadget, and I'm surprised that i got a couple of comments a few minutes after the post was made, if you are uncomfortable that some girls find these kind of gadgets cool and are quite seductively beautiful. Don't blame me for saying that a lot of girls (not stereotyping all girls in this category) like shiny expensive things, bought with their own money or as a gift.
MisterFuhrman @ Aug 20th 2007 2:15AM
@ Austin.
Best. Post. Eva.
Step 2. Put your junk in that box.

@ angela
So you'd buy a 20k bracelet or ring?
You must be quite the superficial, materialistic, selfish shallow twat!
Anyone who buys one of these should be stripped of all their money & put in workcamps. And you wonder why we are hated so much by other parts of the world? This sort of self-gratifying mentality. The same people who buy this sort of stuff ar ehte same people who have no idea what is going on anywhere in the world outside of their hood.
Blissfully ignorant - just how your government wants you.
trombonium @ Aug 20th 2007 8:32AM
Like a high-priced hooker? Why not just give you a stack of cash & have our way with you for the weekend?
Your dream gift - says a lot about you!
Not all women are shallow Angela, and those are the women men that don't leave after their seed is planted, like.
Not the materialistic twats.
Mark @ Aug 20th 2007 11:58AM

Are those diamonds IGI certified ? ... maybe their blood diamonds...
Jesse S @ Aug 20th 2007 2:05AM
...It won't blend?
Zeus the God @ Aug 20th 2007 2:28AM
Jesse, not it won't blend. The diamonds are too hard. The iPod and gold would, but you would be left with the dust of a POS and some diamonds.
I don't see whats appealing to an iPod Shuffle...
Chris Kovach @ Aug 20th 2007 8:41AM
Well, the shuffle was a great present for my mom, who'd destroy just about any other player with her amazing super power: illusions of nerdiness wrapped in real techno-ignorance. Plus she kept asking for my old iPod video. The shuffle was -perfect- for her, and non-users like her.
hanzo @ Aug 20th 2007 5:10AM
The ipod shuffle is the most featureless player out there, it does nothing but play music (and not particularly well), so it's the best choice if you want to create a gadget like this. I mean the shuffle is not a player, it's the idea of an ipod, it's so stripped down that it merely represents a concept... so what better choice if you want to create some luxury thing?
theboss @ Aug 20th 2007 9:20AM
This is for women. Maybe if I was Bill Gates I would buy this for my girl just for the heck of it. A woman would love something like this. Too much bling for me. One medium to small earring is enough ice for me, maybe a nice watch.
Nate @ Aug 20th 2007 9:22AM
Isn't the iPod shuffle $79?
katie @ Aug 20th 2007 9:34AM
As a lady, I find this item totally worthless. I have an mp3 player, its not an ipod. If my man bought this for me, I would be afraid to take it out in public ...someone would most likely steal it.
Then you lose diamonds and you rub off the gold ... what a worthless gift this is. its like getting a diamond studed necklace for your dog. He'll just scratch it off.
How do you clean these diamonds anyway? seriously? you can't dip it in the cleaning solution like you can a ring or bracelet.
ZeoSzeHo @ Aug 20th 2007 9:55AM
As a man, i find this thing really fugly... not to mention it's completely stupid to put things that sharp on a thing that you will often touch and press...
rafdesign @ Aug 20th 2007 10:38AM
stupid news, gossip crap. Really.
Chris @ Aug 20th 2007 12:00PM
"Blinged out iPod Shuffle doesn't come cheap"
Yeh.... not only is it really expensive, it will cost your dignity and self respect too to be seen outside with that monstrosity.....
jason @ Aug 20th 2007 12:24PM
This is the ugliest, and most tasteless creation I've seen yet. No thank you.
stanley hudson @ Aug 20th 2007 3:53PM
i'll give you a million stanley nickels for it.
DJ Gee @ Aug 27th 2007 1:44PM
I just read about this on GlobalGrind.com and wanted to see what other people were saying about it. I kind of like it, its overpriced of course, and I think iPod shuffles are dumb because they don't even have a screen (I had one and gave it away to a friend) but I can see why iPod would choose to do it to the shuffle. It probably has lower sales than their other products and this was the best they could come up with for a potential increase in sales.
