Logitech intros G51 surround sound system for PC gamers
Logitech is breaking away from all those iPod-friendly speaker stations a moment and getting down to business with the G51 Surround Sound Speaker System. Designed for PC gamers and film-watchers alike, this 5.1 rig features "360-degree surround sound with dual Matrix modes," which creates a "surround-sound experience from any common two-channel stereo source." Furthermore, users can look forward to built-in headphone / microphone jacks, a convenient mute button, customizable satellites, gaming and music Matrix modes, 155-watts of total power, a ported, down-firing subwoofer, and independent volume controls for good measure. Notably, Logitech's latest setup won't exactly break the bank, as interested consumers can bring these home for just $199.99 this October.[Via TheNewsMarket]

Logitech's competition for the Creative Progamer G500? Can't wait for the reviews.

These speakers sound like they have great potential. I've always had quality control issues with Logitech speakers though. I am much more satisfied with the Klipsch 2.0 setup as of right now. The addition of surround would be nice, so I think ill give these a look. And the 199 price point seals the deal! I just hope the proverbial "you get what you pay for" doesn't come into play.

$200, lets hope its good, alot of products i have had from logitech are good, but could use improvement, and not like most products, its like they are usually sub par, but not by much. i hope this really shines.

Seriously! I'm waiting on a follow up to the z5500's. I need something a little meaner.

They really do need something to top the 5500s... I mean, I love mine and all... but they could use a few more inputs.... and they could be meaner... not a lot meaner, but a little bit more.

Only 155 watts of total power? Just a guess but that could be around 20w per speaker and 55 for the sub, not that good, even at the price you are still paying a bit for the show. (I LOVE logitech mice, keyboards and headphones, their speakers have never sat well with me though
I've been rocking the Creative Gigaworks 7.1 speakers for over 3 years now that are 70w per speaker and 210w on the sub. (and yes these are RMS numbers)
