Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-H3: an 8 megapixel, 10x zoomer
While everyone is pining over the new Canons (and rumored Nikons), Sony has quietly unveiled their Cybershot DSC-H3. Of course, it doesn't warrant the comparable fuss. This latest super-zoom to go point-and-shoot brings a 1/2.5-inch, 8 megapixel sensor; 10x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens; optical image stabilization; ISO 3200 sensitivity; and 1080p image out via a multi-use AV terminal which requires -- you guessed it -- a $40 proprietary component conversion cable from Sony. Thanks. Still, not bad for $300. Pre-orders for US-itizens start tomorrow.

I like the 10x zoom on this baby!
Why is the ‘ISO 3200 sensitivity’ important when we don't know what kind of quality image we get at that setting?
wouldn't be nice that Sony works harder on the 2nd generation of Minolta-Sony Alfa 100 rather than this kind of toys!

Hefty bulk = better stability. Looks like a nice camera for times when you do not want to lug a SLR around.
Oops, meant to reply to Crayola below.
Looks like it has a pretty hefty bulk, I would choose the Canon PowerShot G7 over this, good chance there will be a price drop once the G9 arrive.
I just recently bought a DSC-H7 with a 15x zoom for $365 from Circuit City. It obviously does not fit in a pocket, but it is not that larger/heavy. I love the zoom and the picture quality is top notch once you start to get the different settings down (like what settings for different situations). I love it, and would of still bought it for only $65 more for 5x more zoom. The only complaint is the usb cable is part of that stupid av output cable. Not only is this cable bulky, but can not be easily/cheaply replaced.
dis thang is yuuugleee..
