You are right at that, it is a lot of money for a computer monitor. But personally, I had expected it to cost a lot more, I was actually expecting around $2000 or more.

Actually, $1000 is fairly reasonable for high-end LCDs made for graphic designers.

Looking at the specifications of this monitor, it looks like it might be using a TN-panel.
Those are NOT for professional usage.
If you meant monitors for professional usage in general, and not specifically this one, then I agree with you. :)
