That is a LOT to throw at consumers at once. What happened to planned marketing?!
The prices of LCD's and Plasmas have dropped so quickly, its madness.
these probably have HDMI 1.3, yes?
looks like i may be geting a new tv
madness?
THIS IS THE ECONOMY!!!!!!!
ROFL... that...is...awesome
I am not as familiar with the Sony line as I would like. How do these differ from the XBR 4 and XBR 5 models that have been previously announced. I think the XBR is the top of the line, right?
I want one of these new 1080p, 120Hz TV's, LED Backlite TV's, but I just want to see them first.
Does anyone know if all of these new sets have a reflective front? I have 25' of glass overlooking the San Francisco and covering the view is not a desirable option? I want an LCD set without a reflective front.
Any Help?
No, they don't have a reflective front. We've got a 40" XBR4 at work... It's one of our best TVs.
BTW, if you want to see it in person, check up your local Circuit City. We carry it and it has it's own display... Motion Flow is a very impressive technology. :)
Uhhh...how is that a lot? its three model series...the same amount of series that you'll find from sharp and samsung. Dont let the # of model sizes fool you.
i love how that if you read the translated page the phrase "brassiere beer link" keeps popping up....i really gotta buy a sony
I'd hope that entire X series was LED back lit and the smaller models cost nothing like that 35K for the 70... especially as Samsung have a 52 LED with 500,000:1 dynamic contrast coming out in the UK in a month for only £2000.
What's new? This information seems to have been around for more than a month.
"400 ten thousand Yen"... maybe that means 400,000 yen, which would be about $3500?
No, it's $35,000 alright. Japanese got a wacky number system that actually has a "10,000" unit.
The Samsung 81 Series sets (e.g., 5781, 5281, etc.) are LED backlit. The PQ is absolutely amazing. HOWEVER, the screen is total gloss and has about the same reflectivity as a traditional CRT or plasma. In a bright room, there is significant glare. I wonder if Sony will release a matte finish LED backlit screen.
I'm debating between the 52" 81 series or the XBR5 (which has the same screen as the XBR4) since the later is matte finish.
Beautiful. drooling!
I think that these are the same sets previously announced for the US market months ago, now released for the Japanese market.
How do the XBR series compare to these sets?
uhm yea..
plasma >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> lcd
next topic.
Right... seems like a well presented argument.
Does anybody know why Sony doesn't make 60 or 62-inch LCD's.
