I have the w810i (until the OpenMoko Neo is available commercially).
Before I'll buy another SE phone from AT&T, I'll make sure the button that connects to the expensive-by-the-byte edge network isn't the largest and easiest to hit on the pad. I'm tired of paying for the minimum 1kb connection fee for the 20 or so times a month I hit this button by accident. Press it and *pay*.
Also, the default location a joystick push will take you is to their shopping site. Ugh. Can I pick my OWN default, please? SE lets you reconfigure the default presses for most buttons, but strangely not the buttons that go direct to AT&T pay-extra functions.
And finally, playing a game on the w810i hurts your fingers if you have even an average-sized hand. The left and right motion buttons are right next to each other and getting two fingers on them at once is impossible.
You can disable the store button press... however you have to call Cingular/at&t and have them disable all data for your cell phone number. My mom did it with our 3 at&t phones because my phone had a similar problem and we got nailed one month with a hefty charge (which they refunded...thankfully).
Friend, I think you need to be introduced to the world of unbranded/debranded handsets. My w810i runs on SE firmware, not the garbage that Rogers ships. And clicking that button on my phone takes me to the menu not the Rogers pay through the nose internet site. Plus I can use any song I want for a ringtone and any prepaid SIM I want when travelling. I even use Windows Media Player 11 to manage the music on my phone.

Grr, the accidental button pushes drives me crazy. Really wish I can just disable it.

www.openmoko.com :-) A 100% configurable phone. No lock-in.
But, it's missing decent cellphone data connectivity. It has WiFi, but only GPRS for data.
