This will be a nice upgrade from my 30d. With the extra MP, I'll be able to go a bit larger, maybe up to 20x30 size prints. My favorite feature on the 40d has got to be the CF door not causing shutdowns, instead going with just a warning indication. That got annoying very quickly and I'm glad they fixed that.
