Are you interested in a really, really small DAP? As in: so small you will most definitely lose it some place, like, say... between your car seat cushions, or in a pile smooth skipping stones? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might want to look into Sansa's
Clip -- just about the teeny-tiniest media player we've ever had the pleasure of handling. Actually, the thing feels pretty good when you get your mitts on it, sort of like a shrunken iPod, with a really nice, clear OLED display. At the low prices they're asking for these ($40 for the 1GB, $60 for the 2GB), you can probably afford to lose a few. Check the gallery -- we promise you won't have to squint... much.

This might be cool if it doesn't have the same bugs as the Sansa Express. I've had two in a row that won't save my position within a track between sessions (power off) if I click the pause button first. The problem became solely intermittent after doing a firmware update. So, assuming this isn't using the Express' firmware, it might be a cool gadget.

Doesn't look much smaller than Sony's NWS70xx. We have one in the same awful pink. It's 2GB and was ~$60 on woot months ago.

Does this show up as a UMS device? Does it play only by tagged categories or can it play by folder?
TDG01 @ Aug 31st 2007 3:26PM
I can tell it's small....but a picture next to a shuffle or something else I know will really help put it in perspective...
Also, I'd like to know about the audio quality....The iRiver S10 rates with phenomenal audio quality....That's the really important to me. The iPod shuffle is a great form factor, but the audio quality is horrible...can't listen to mine anymore.

The hand that it's being held by is roughly the size of a human hand.

HAHAHAHAHA... that one cracked me up... roughly the size of a human hand...

Wow,I don't expected it to be so tiny.Looks really nice(apart from the pink colour), I will probably get one for my brother and/or for me.
Anyway, they only have the pink version at the sandisk booth?

I would've preferred if they just put a clip on the Sansa Express. The loss of the MicroSD slot is annoying.

I can buy two for my GF and she can use them as earings.

sign me up if apple doesn't have anything bette rup it's sleeve, these are nice, small+lcd. I like em, colour me impressed.
dfsdfsfsf @ Aug 31st 2007 5:52PM
Med I rather get an Ipod, the clickwheel are much better and Ipod sound quality is the best. Plus the form factor is much more slicker and better than all other Mp3.
Johan S @ Aug 31st 2007 5:53PM
It's too expensive. For $60, I would expect about 4GB. Yes I know the 4GB ipod is about $200, so what?
Sean DL @ Aug 31st 2007 8:11PM
So what? Yeah, that's telling them! Make a 4GB player for 60 bucks! So what if you go under.....
ark_v2 @ Aug 31st 2007 10:25PM
This is definetly a winner

"Does this show up as a UMS device?"
On Windows, no, only as an MTP device. Apparently the latest Sansa models are MTP on Windows and UMS on Linux ... not selectable.
I read that someone figured out how to make the Sansa Express a UMS player, using Windows Device Manager. I wonder if it's possible with the Sansa Clip?
