Well obviously they all have to go digital, seeing that analog transmissions are being turned off almost everywhere there would be nobody left to sell analog receivers to.
I'm not sure, all equipment is made in asia and using highly integrated chips, so it's possible that it will be 10 times cheaper to go digital in the third world too not too long from now rather than use hard to find increasingly expensive old stuff. Even though digital (in old PAL/NTSC resolutions) is actually worse quality by the way, stuff only gets worse by digital compression alone.
