A-DATA unveils 16GB SDHC Class 6 flash card, amongst others
16GB SDHC cards aren't all that atypical these days, but A-DATA is claiming to have the "world's first 16GB SDHC Class 6" iteration ready to roll. Additionally, the firm is introducing an 8GB Super SDHC Duo (saywha?) card of the Class 4 variety, and for those still scouting a new CompactFlash card, it's cranking out a 32GB version for you. Regrettably, we've no idea how soon A-DATA plans to get these on the market (nor how much it plans to charge), but it shouldn't be long before we all find out.

I remember my first computer with 10Gb.
i remember mine with less than 1 =(
I remember my 32MB hard drive. It held the OS and all the files. According to Bill Gates, 640KB is enough for everyone!
I remember when my computer had no hard drive.
Well I remember the days when my computer didn't even have a computer... seriously! Then eventually came home computers with 32Kb of RAM that had to have software loaded off a portable cassette player. No disks, no drives, no mouse, but we got totally addicted to the damn things and played 16-color games all night even then! Heh! Nothing changes, really. Roll on the death of the hard-drive with its primitive spinning plattens...
would be nice to get a 16 Gig prO duo for my PSP
I agree although the article doesn't mention anything about a pro duo chip I imagine in a year they will have a 16gb or even 32gb pro duo card. Having one of them in my PSP would be amazing imagine all the ISOs you could fit on one of those (legally acquired of course)
The second one is really really nice.
What the hell is SDHC Duo?
the duo presumably operates as an SD card and also plugs direct to USB. Sweet. Kiss standard DVD goodbye as a storage mechanism when these go under $20 each.
that's an awesome idea. screw card readers =D
The 'duo' refers to the dual interfaces teh card has, sandisk tossed out convertible sd cards about 2 years ago and that's all i'll buy now, carrying around a reader is a pain. Nice to know that other people are picking up on how amazingly convenient that little twist actually is.
the "duo" in "8GB Super SDHC Duo" most likely just means that it can be plugged into a usb and sd slot.
now if only I could use the 32gb flash as a harddrive for my laptop and not have it die in 1 month of usage....
faster chips are better, but make em last longer so they can be used for other things too!!!
Ooooo a 32GB CF. Very cool. Gotta find a way to justify that purchase to the missus.
Isn't 32gb what their offering as SSD? SSD seems less amazing now.
i have seen 64gig ssds, albeit for 1900USD (no tax) :(
although i do want one for the OS (faster boot), the limits on capacity, and the high price drive me away from using it as a standalone for my laptop, and since i cant boot with 2 drives i'm going to wait for the price to drop a bit..i mean to drop a LOT.
I hope the next DSLR I buy comes with CompactFlash and not SD. How much smaller does flash memory need to get?
Can't wait to pop that 32 into my dSLR, although week long trips and 3 hour football games cant seem to fill my 4gb...
I can't see many people using these high capacity CF cards for cameras. It would be a nightmare to upload an entire chip full of images. I do professional photography and even right now it takes a long time to upload my 4gb chip.
I have got 2x 16Gb adata at the moment. LOL gonna try 1 day fitting both cards into D3.
I'm no longer worried about having to swap cards in the middle of shoots.
What speed is the CF card? Of course "Speedy CF" is a good description but I don't want to have to wait 30 minutes for the 45X card to move my photos to the PC when the 300X card does it in 5.
Looks like i'll be sticking one of those 32GB cards in my ipod mini :DDDDDDDDDDDDD
My first light speed computer came with 1Mb Ram & 40 Mb HD, That rells you how old I am !
