Internet radio iPods due Wednesday?
Sensing a small gap in existing September 5th iPod rumors, vnunet.com is joining the fray and citing an "industry insider" with word on a digital radio iPod. Apparently the device will stream iTunes songs wirelessly, with a "Buy Now" option if the mood strikes. While internet radio has been a feature of iTunes since time began, it's never really been a big thrust for Apple, and to say that we're skeptical about this "report" is a major understatement. We're also not sure Apple is ready to leave its precious digital hub and finally allow consumers to make purchasing decisions on the go, but we're certainly all for it. Let's file this one under "baseless" until tomorrow when all shall be known.[Thanks, FireFox]

Starbucks has recently installed plasma screens with "now playing" information and cover art a la itunes. I wonder if Starbucks plays into this strategy. They have wifi -- go to a starbucks, hear a song and buy it?
Or at least free streaming or itunes access at starbucks? (use their wifi for free and they get a cut of itunes sales made at their location?)
Luckily, I've been listening to shoutcast radio on my phone for the past 2 years. It was a major reason I bought a smartphone over a plain old phone. Pocket Tunes + 3g = win!
Good news for music people. A wifi ipod would technically pay to the audio home recording act.
Is this going to be like the Sandisk Sansa Connect, 4GB, which supports wireless access (802.11g/b) to Yahoo Music, with the option to purchase (subscribers to the OnTheGo service, about $15/mo. I think, can just download any song they like, and get more music stations)?
Heh. I was right for once.
So?? Is the iPod touch SHOUTcast enabled or not?? Still waiting for an answer.
Ive been trying for hours to find a sitevi can stream with my iPhone but haven't had any luck. Anyone know any sites. I tried shoutcast, radioparadise and accuradio....to no avail. :/
