And to round out the day's hardware hands-ons we wrapped our mitts around the new
iPod classic. It's thin, it's solid, but it's still hard drive based, which for our flash-loving selves will always be kind of a bummer. But if you're the type that carries around 80 (or 160 friggin gigs) of media and you like to use iPods, this is the new king of the hill. (Photographed is the 80GB model, not the thicker 160GB iPod.) Unfortunately, tasks like Cover Flow ran about as (un)smoothly as on the nano, so if you're expecting a fully iPhone-like experience, don't get your hopes up.
P.S. -The new shuffles were difficult to find, but we also threw a couple shots of those in the gallery for good measure.

I just got the 80GB iPod Classic two days ago and I LOVE it!! I traded my Zune in and decided to get an iPod. Originally, I wanted one of the 30GBs, but unffortunately, Apple stopped sending those out a couple months ago. Contrary to what I thought my choice would be, I ended up getting the 80GB Classic. I had looked at these on the internet, and hated the aluminum front, but once I saw it at Best Buy in black, my mind was made up. Personally, I think the silver looks awful, but the black is nice and is so much easier to keep from getting scratched.
The two-sided screen is also awesome, along with the cover flow.
Hmmm havent yoo got anything postive to say about it ...thats little mean ..if all your gonna do is be negative yes comment but comment constructively. I just bought one of these the other day i think its brilliant; i used to have a 30gb creative zen and tbh i find the ipod a much better mp3 player however i think it is easier to put stuff on/ take off of a creative zen than it is of an ipod . Itunes is a clever idea but the syncronisng busness is annoying ...better to be able to pick and choose the song and place them on . See positive with construtive critism.
It doesn't come with the Felt Case!?! WHY??!!?? I Loved that stupid thing.
