iPhone price drop leads to sales boost
Shocking, we know. As if the price drops on the PlayStation 3 weren't evidence enough that we all like our gizmos a bit cheaper, a new report from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster claims that iPhone sales skyrocketed shortly after the (hotly contested) price drops. According to his math, Apple needed to sell some 136,000 iPhones between September 5th (the day of the cuts) and September 9th (the day Apple claimed to have sold one million of its mobiles), which meant that 27,000 iPhones per day were getting unboxed in the five-day period. Comparatively, Munster approximated that Cupertino was unloading around 9,000 iPhones per day prior to the price cuts. 'Course, even Gene doubts that the recent sales surge will be able to hold steady, but we'd say the slashings have already had their desired effect.

Apple would sell approx 1 million phone for each month, if the sales boost is sustained. . This is a real WoW.
if people don't like the apple post why the heck do you read them engadget always feature about 10 different items per page, so if you dont like apple why the heck are you reading apples stuff, get a life, when iphone came out at $599 i bought one and really thought it was worth every penny, the price drop just make it look more atractive now, hell i might even grab my wife one for $399 -100 from apples store credit
Apple could sell more iPhones if they would add FLASH and Cut&Paste.
My god, lower prices lead to higher demand! This is surely a breakthrough in economic theory, Engadget! You have revolutionized the study of supply and demand forever! You must publish your findings in prominent journals, Engadget, so that the entire world may benefit from your discovery.
Regardless this post might be pushing it a little bit on engadgets side to post new stories of course, but seriously, just stfu and go read another site... I don't have an iphone but it really is neat to play with, well until and if the google phone ever comes out...(sigh)
