anySIM is here: open source GUI iPhone unlock app

We've seen a couple of early versions of GUI iPhone SIM unlock apps from the open source community, but it looks like the iPhone Dev Team's got its proper release in order. Unfortunately, the app's source code won't be released for a couple days yet, so if you want to see how the Dev Team got from iUnlock (and iUnlock Reloaded) to their "final" anySIM solution, you'll have to wait a little while longer. In the mean time, we've mirrored the tool here on our super-fast server farm. Oh, and don't blame us if it doesn't work or bricks your phone -- especially because we've yet to test this thing.

1/Use AT&T sim (the one come with Iphone) to restore your iphone to default setting
2/Keep AT&T sim the phone, use anySIM software to unlock your phone and follow these steps are here below to unlock your phone:

With the right software (BIG thanks to Nate True's iBrickr and Anysim!) I was able to circumnavigate AT&T activation and unlock a US iphone here in the UK very quickly and with no fuss. It is now running on a Vodafone SIM quite happily...

PROBLEMS WITH THE BASEBAND...
After the AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" the iphone response with ERROR.
The phone is still locked.
And please do not response with "ignore the ERROR message" and continue with the process. It didn´t work. Or leave the minicom, run the bbupdater -v and try it again. Didn´t work either. Or flashing again the baseband, didn´t work.
I tried with the info on iphoneunlock.no (using minicom), with the script of AnySIM and with the script using iunlock2, with the same response: STILL LOCKED!!!

Has anybody idea on how to fix it?

Yea I know this is Amazing and I still have faith in this eventhought my iphone is not unlocked yet. please I need some Help. When run the software (anysim) it will start dumping the nor and then it will tell me"unlock failure couldn't locate bytes to pach" Did i miss a step? Can somebody please give me the fix to this. I need help. I used brickr and anysim to unlock my iphone but it still does not recognize my tmobile sim card and when i run anysim it says that unlock failure and could not find bytes patch. my iphone also is running slow. it takes forever to go back when the home button is hit. when i try to connect back to brickr it says my iphone is not connected... Please someone help me.

I just purchased a new iPhone, which was still firmware 1.0.2. Before applying any hacks, I restored it via iTunes to 1.1.1, then applied the jailbreak technique from jailbreakme.com

From there I installed "BSD Subsystem", "Community Sources" & "OpenSSH", all via the Installer.app (which is automatically added during the jailbreak procedure).

From here I connected to the iPhone via SSH (using CyberDuck on Mac) and uploaded the AnySIM 1.1 application to /Applications/ on the iPhone. I restarted the iPhone and AnySIM was on the SpringBoard ready to rock 'n roll. I placed in my own Sim Card and ran AnySim. Worked like a charm. (once unlocked, you can SSH back into the iPhone and delete the AnySIM application).

Lastly, be sure to make a small donation to these wonderful developers! Keep up the great work.

My phone was activated with a ATT sim and Iphone version 1.1.1. Jailbreaked it with apptapp htt://jailbreakme.com and it jailbroke my phone fine. I then processed and installed bsd subsystem and ssh open. I went to source and added i.unlock.no and hit save then refress and then downloaded anysim version 1.1 exit isntaller phone automatically soft reboot and Anysim appeared on my main screen. removed the att sim and inserted a Tmobile sim ran anysim until it said unlocked successfull. the phone worked with tmobile full bar made a test call and it worked perfectly. I then shut of the phone and turn it back on and then it never worked again with tmobile, it says "different sim detected connect to iTunes" or it will stay phone needs to be activated. I put the original activated ATT sim and it work with ATT but not with the Tmobile. I relocked again using onesims and re unlocked again using anysims and still have the same problem. I know that there is a way to perfect this unlock, the way I did the jailbreak and unlock without connecting my phone to a computer. Please help, pease post a solution for this if you encountered this problem while unlocking with anysims or IPFS. Thank you

I unlocked my iphone following the instructions with jailbreak and anysim...(v1.1.1)

Phone works great, as does Youtube, camera, etc...

my provbelm is the tunes. I cannot add music. When i plug it into iteunes, it recognizes my device as ``untitled Playlist`` and when i try to add songs from my library, only the 3 default songs sync. nothing else. I am pretty savvy with itunes as this is my 3rd itunes device.

anybody with some help, I would appreciate it

i have a 1.0.2 unlocked iphone , i had to restore it later then my phone is stuck i cant upgrade it to 1.1.1 because my itune doesnt like my sim card for some reason and its telling me that the carrier is not supported , and also i cant visit jailbreakme.com from my phone because its only unlocking the 1.1.1 software , what do i do ?

These guys are geniuses. Not only did the hack go smoothly but there was an added bonus of being able to synchronize my contacts and calendar on Outlook XP (2002), which is no longer supported by iTunes 7.5.020.
