iPod touch splayed but Bluetooth mystery continues
What a tease. The ifixit tear down we've all been waiting for on the iPod touch fails to specifically exclude the existence of Bluetooth silicon or even point out which chip is providing the WiFi. After all, Broadcom, Marvell, and CSR all offer single-chip solutions with combined WiFi and Bluetooth radios. Hell, they'll even integrate an FM radio if you ask real nice. Ah well, perhaps those of you with more IC-focused eyes can take a look at these snaps and bring an end to the Bluetooth in iPod touch mystery once and for all. Otherwise, we're looking at a Foxconn manufactured iPod with Toshiba (not Samsung) flash NAND memory, Wolfson audio chip, and what appears to be a Samsung manufactured ARM processor presumed to be "very, very similar" to the proc found in the iPhone.

Yes, people complain about the ipod. But every popular product has that group of people who hate it just because someone that they dont like loves it....
but, Ill tell you what you show me an Mp3 player that has the following features and ill run out and buy it today.
1)Bluetooth ( I WANT to be able to run without dealing with a wire running between my head an my pants. I know that the ipod dosnt have this, yet. but I would need to have this feature to switch )
2)Durability ( My 1st generation Ipod Nano went though the washer and the drier at least once as well as the usual abuse I put to devices that I carry around with me )
3)Thought to design ( The thing that I like the most about the ipod is that there is a clear thought of design, You can tell when you pick it up that it is a solid device. That the software and hardware were put through solid design testing before release. As well as it just looks clean and slick )
1. Why? Bluetooth SOUNDS BAD. Noticeable bad.
2. Cowon X5 with a screen protector.
3. Honestly, I think that Apple's hardware looks ugly, and that they look like they were made for kids. I like the way my X5 looks.
*noticeably
I work for a competitor, and we plan at looking at the silicon of the iPOD touch. We have already done this for the Iphone. Will let you guys know what we find....
I would appreciate if you would follow up and tell us what you find!

I ran BlueTool on my iPod Touch and it told me the power was on but yet there are no devices to select. So why would the touch even have BlueTool to turn the power on if there are no devices, this does not make sense.
