Yeah, we know we're running slightly behind on fooling around with a retail
iPod touch, but we've finally got one here. You already saw our
first impressions when we played with it at launch, but as the days have gone on, we've just become bewildered by a number of things, like: why does the
screen look so different from the iPhone's? (More on that later.) Why'd Apple switch back to the shiny, scratch-magnet rear casing? Why can you add contacts, but
not calendar appointments to the touch? And what was their methodology in selecting apps to use on the touch and not on the iPhone? While we ponder these questions (and many more) check out the full unboxing and hands-on gallery. More to come.
looking at this as an ipod im happy. it does everything i want it to and a little more i have 2 other calendars that i use , entourage and my phone so the calendar aspect dosnet bother me one bit and like some people said just wait a month or so and it will be hacked and able to run applications since its the same OS so it will be fine. the wifi is pretty decent , its nice to sit play some 360 and be able to send and recieve email.. for me , its an ipod and thats all i wanted it for. what did piss me off was i pre-orderd it from apple.com and estimated ship date was the 28th but bestbuy had it last weekend and apple tried so hard to have me not cancel my order but whatever i bought it at bestbuy with the 3yr warranty and when the 16gb are outdated my ipod will have an "accident" covered under the warranty and they will give me an ipod in the store .. they did it with my tv :)
WHERES THE MORE TO COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COME ON ENGADGET
hey well got my i pod touch yesterday I'm in NZ bought online and some how managed to get it 2 weeks before it's released retail weird!!!!
Anyway, I love it but I have 2 Bitches,,,, #1 why cant I download or save images from safari.. #2 the Calendar, why cant I add appointments via the i pod?!>
It seems obvious to me these missed points, so it must be obvious to apple. Why have they chosen to opt out these basic features?

I think that the lack of bluetooth is disturbing, but the most disturbing things are for the people who live in France, Italy or Greece, as you might have read the FCC manual for the iPod Touch, you can use the WiFi feature only indoors.. :P ..I just wonder if the iphone has the same limitations.. :D
