Well, I'm certainly jumping on the "why the hell aren't we getting 3G" -bandwagon! Apple has apparently totally misread the European market. 3G is everywhere, and 2G is only used for cheap simple call and text phones.
Apple might as well have made us wait untill next year, I'm certainly not going to buy an expensive phone that's not state-of-the-art, and certainly will not be in 18 months.
The battery life story I don't get, my Nokia N65 works fine when using 3G with regards to battery life.
