US-based Segway polo team grabs gold in 2007 Woz Challenge Cup
Well, would you look at this -- the Silicon Valley Aftershocks (look familiar?) managed to avenge last year's tie by shutting out the New Zealand Pole Blacks in this year's Woz Challenge Cup. 'Course, we could explain exactly how all five goals were scored and how well balanced these finely-tuned athletes were, but let's be honest, we're not here for that. What we are here for, however, is the video coverage of the event, which is at least good for a few chuckles. Go on, check it out after the jump.Read - Woz Challenge Cup results

"We're sorry, the clip you are trying to play is not currently available in your area."
I'm thinking about how can I describe crappy AOL video service.

If you switch the G and the W in Segway, you get the definition. How odd.
insertAlias @ Sep 18th 2007 5:45PM
How very clever of you...you've equated something you consider stupid with homosexuality...wow...
*intolerance*

wow, the people they picked for interviews are sporting some wicked cool hats... they should have tried to find a bald dude with a monocle though.
StuartM @ Sep 18th 2007 5:53PM
Andy, as far as I know, none of us sews.
Oh... and we're the same "nerds" who played originally.
B @ Sep 18th 2007 8:23PM
wow... "sew" is pronounced like "so"... gee, don't they have a word for something like that? You and InsertAlias need to grow a sense of humor

Envy makes one so tacky and cheap. It is an emotion best left to those who have nothing left to lose.
Boynamedsue @ Sep 18th 2007 6:23PM
whats up with not being able to comment on the item above this engadget? are you afraid the mean commenters will scare away your clever columnist?
Rick @ Sep 18th 2007 6:25PM
Agreed - it's the stupidest thing I've ever read here (close to this segway crap, but still the stupidest thing I've seen here)
tron @ Sep 18th 2007 6:38PM

At first I thought "lazy bastards."
But then, after watching the video, I thought "I wonder if I'd get in trouble wearing that lady's hat to work, the one with the black hat and purple flowers." That will go great at a conference with the company's main cheese. Just kidding.
But, this definitely brings a twist to the game.
seoultrain @ Sep 18th 2007 11:38PM
just when you thought polo was dead...
it dies a little more.

Hm. I can't view it. Seems it's not available in my area, whatever that means.
Luckily, a quick search for 'segway polo' on YouTube filled my desire to see a bunch of people racing around on segways whacking a ball with a hammer.
