A few weeks? My kid will trash that spongebob camera in a day.

If I had a kid and he asked me for a 15" SpongeBob Squarepants LCD Television, we would have to have a talk about sustainability. Fads go way too quickly for this to catch on.

I think the "Dora the Explorer: Kid Tough Digital VGA Camera" would be nice for my 2 1/2 year old.
I go my old box style black and white camera around 4 years. I am sure if I could find film for it it would still work.

@Zach
Spongebob has been around for f'n ever (as far as kids are concerned atleast, something like 5 years atleast) ;)
@Topic
Honestly, i don't see a problem here. This is how things go, when technology becomes so cheap to produce, what was top of the line two or three years ago becomes a toy.
*waves hickory stick in air*
I remember when 3 Megapixels was Top of the line, i still have my $250 3mp camera! It still works! is it good (no)?
(now get off my lawn)
Disney makes a plethora of things like these too, mp3 players, cameras, even tv's and dvd players, so i'm not suprised here, what suprises me is how horrible the specs are for the price... but thats marketing to kids for ya' charge for the fact that there is a sponge on the camera, not because it's a decent camera... seriously 32mb @ 3mp on HQ would be less than 32 pictures... thats less than a roll of film.... FOR SHAME!

Disclaimer: I don't have kids and probably never will, but would you add better specs in the camera, have it cost more and make is more of a risk for a young child? You would probably make it gimped to keep costs down.
As for the 3MP camera, kids have it nice in 2007. Back in the day (2001), I paid nearly $400 for a 1.3 MP camera that weighed like a brick and barely held any pics.

Spongebob has been around for a long time, but kids don't tend to follow fads for as long as they exist. I know, I was one once. I never really was into something for more than a year. Except for K'nex, but a K'nex camera doesn't exist and we all know why.

For the record I had < p >, but it didn't show.

I wonder how many of these will be recalled due to lead paint use?
