I'm looking forward to the DualShock 3 for use with PS1 and PS2 games and future games like Gran Turismo 5 that support the rumble feature.
I wonder how the addition of rumble will affect battery life of the controllers.
Sony's next innovation, "Wireless PS2 controllers with rumble!"
Too bad, third-party developers have already came up with it to steal Sony's thunder.
...but can you play doom with it?

I love how this generation were freakin out about controllers.
That's because SONY SCE completely dropped the ball this generation and let Microsoft take their thunder by having the games that gamers want to play.
What is available to play on the PS3 other than striped down versions of Xbox 360 titles?
It's nice to see that all the lying, cocky bastards at Sony like Kaz Hirai / Jack Tretton and that prick Phil Harrison knocked off their asses down to reality.
The best thing that happened is that gamers by not buying the PS3 consoles and the numbers are showing just that. Sony is in some deep shit financially now.
Just goes to show you Sony - don't forget who made you what you are today.
We can make you and we can break you!
Hey mikey boy, chill out dude, its a rumble feature for gods sake. You know, theres an explosion somewhere and the thing vibrates....if you think this is a feature that can make or break any console out there you're either 12 years old or you're way overestimating its popularity or importance. Half the people on this very blog have said they dont give a crap about it....
For many folks this means that car games can be serious now, because without a wheel, it's kind of lame and without force feedback the wheels suck. I can't wait to play dirt and Gran Tourismo with a steering wheel.
i can haz rumblez?
Hmm, Mainichi Issho: Toro Station's not on the list...
So what do I do with the two none rumbling sixaxis controllers I bought 6 months ago now they're more or less obselete? I'm sure it won't be long before games start using rumbling as an integral part of the game... I'm looking at MGS for a start. Sony really needs to start treating its customers like customers and not sales figures.
"We have no plans to do so in the standard controller that ships with PlayStation 3. I believe that the Sixaxis controller offers game designers and developers far more opportunity for future innovation than rumble ever did. Now, rumble I think was the last generation feature; it's not the next-generation feature. I think motion sensitivity is. And we don't see the need to do that." - Phil Harrison, Sony, February 2007.
How can anyone trust a product from a company like this?
A rumble update for Formula 1: Championship Edition? Sweet!
I'll stick to my custom joystick, xbox, and SF3... unless i feel like whipping out the old Zapper and killing some ducks on my mint condition original NES :p
@Willen - That was my question as well... I think many people (myself included) would prefer long battery life over a rumble feature. Hopefully they will continue to sell the "old" SIXAXIS' after Spring '08.
@Ransom - I dunno about Doom... but I bet it'll blend!
good news, i guess
Hey....
as i recall Sony said it was last gen wasn't it?
aaaah f*ck i can't wait for DS3 8)
I own a PS3 only and have always been waiting for this 8)
I think im gonna import it from US/Japan i mean they are still the same arent they?
They'll release it first in Japan just like when they released the
PS3 for the first time.
Check out Games Asia they have em.

Since I got my PS3 I have spent quite a fair few dollars...aaarr i guess that's why we work...so we can do what we like!
Damn Sony why the hell does it have to be in the SPRING!!? Sh*t now I have to wait for like 4 months. Man why the f*ck Sony didn't release the Dualshock 3 at least one year after launch, they just had to think of it 2 years after. THANKS A LOT SONY.
P.S. you dumb*sses stop talking about futurama, personally I like Futurama but you just getting annoying. Man I'll just buy it off amazon or something.
