T-Mobile, Danger introduce MySpace Mobile for Sidekick
Once Helio's claim to fame, mobile versions of MySpace are spreading across carriers large and small now; seems this whole social networking thing isn't a fad after all. The bulk of the Hiptop user base seems like a key MySpace demographic, so it makes sense that T-Mobile and Danger have joined the fray with a customized version of MySpace Mobile for the Sidekick range. The software's more than a simple mobile web portal, offering real-time status, profile editing, photo management, and communication with other members assembled into a decidedly Danger-like user interface. The companies are undertaking a "multi-week rollout" to the on-device Download Catalog beginning immediately with availability to all Sidekick 3 and iD users by the end of October, so enjoy your last few weeks of productivity while you can.

people still use myspace? wow, i guess it's just me and every last person I know that left in favour of facebook.
I can't say I miss the endless list of "hey, check out my band" friend requests from myspace...
PEZ @ Sep 20th 2007 2:14PM
If you were a myspace user, you would know you can block requests from bands, comedy, films and so on. You must have overlooked that option.
AHAHAHAH! AHAHAHAH! AHAHAHAHA!

lol @ anyone thinking facebook is better. facebook is lame and boring. and you can't make your myspace private and regulate friend/band etc requests.
If facebook was still for only people with .edu emails, then it'll have its niche; but now all those people have their privacy at risk.

sorry.. i guess now that I'm not 14 anymore, I'm just not with it... I'll make sure to remind all my 24-28yr old friends we're lol'-able... ;)
facebook probably isn't as good or whatever, and fully worth arguing over, as you can't use css to add glitter icons... I miss glitter icons.

So this could be a perfect money making machine for them. Myspace doesn't work at all on the Tmobile webbrowser. Maybe it was by design? I sincerely hope it's free of charge, however as with most catalog items they cost money, and even worse is they have been more recently rolling out apps with revolving monthly charges to have them on the phone. They are definitely useful products, such as the weather, ebay, and the RSS readers, but C'mon, it's $3 a month?! I'll read my feeds on a computer which teaches patience and saves money. ;)

Yay! The bottom rung of social networking, and more than a little stale.

I really wish I could delete MySpace. Then when it reopened, enforce rules of good page design and good taste!
Trentyn @ Sep 20th 2007 6:31PM

I was going to throw my Sidekick away after I compared its screen resolution to an iPhone's. But whoa!
I can get mobile Myspace now? That's the productivity tool I've been looking for.
Watch out Blackberry!!! Sidekicks aren't for teenagers anymore. They entered the Enterprise market now.

Opera Mini already does MySpace ... and has for some time.
