BenQ launches uber-quiet MP622 / MP622c projectors
Although BenQ prefers to market its MP622 and MP622c projectors to the suits, we see no reason these bad boys can't be carted home after the nine-to-five for a little fun. Both DLP units sport a 1,024 x 768 (XGA) resolution, a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, ultra-quiet 26dB noise level whilst running in economy mode, and a sexy "midnight black high gloss exterior." The MP622 offers up 2,700 ANSI lumens while the MP622c musters just 2,200, but you'll find VGA / S-Video / composite video inputs on each to compliment the audio in jack and integrated speakers. Word on the street puts these two units on store shelves later this month, with the MP622 ringing up at around $999 and the MP622c costing $849.

It's like the Terminator of all projectors, looks mean and rather sexy! Pretty nice for home installations where noise is a really big problem if the room is small. Launch price is a bit high though.. we can but hope that drops !
It looks like the Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.
Looks like someone figured out that if you add more grills and holes, you can reduce the noise level. Some of us prefer quiet to pretty. I'm prepared to be assimilated :-)
DualBoot; there are quieter projectors that don't look like a radiator, I think from Mitsubishi and some others.
But that said, I keep saying that projectors can be hidden away. In fact, my projector is ceiling mounted practically in plain sight and people think I don't have a TV!
The problem here is that it's not a home theater projector and it's not HD resolution. That, and it's a DLP and they don't say what the color wheel speed is. DLP rainbows annoy me, so I'd want to get the fastest color wheel possible.
I have one of the MP721c's, and the colour wheel is very slow. If you glance at anything quickly you see fantastic rainbows if your eyes are sensitive to things running around 60hz -- the price is pretty much the same, so I would suspect the 622c would use nearly identical parts.
