Evesham launches Cosmos family of gaming rigs
Evesham's no stranger to the gaming laptop realm, but the company is lookin' out for the desktopers too with its lineup of Cosmos gaming rigs. The standard Cosmos comes equipped with a 3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 processor, 2GB of Corsair DDR2 RAM, a 500GB SATA drive, NVIDIA's 768MB GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card, a dual-layer DVD writer and a 24-inch widescreen monitor for good measure. The Elite system ups the ante with a 3GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 CPU, double the RAM, a pair of 500GB HDDs, and twin GeForce 8800 Ultras. Both machines come bundled with a Microsoft wireless keyboard / mouse combo and include a three-year warranty, and while you can certainly customize these things till your credit card cries uncle, they start out at £1,999 ($4,027) and £3,199 ($6,445), respectively.

Interesting looking case, anyone know the manufacturer?
It's a Cooler Master RC-1000.
It goes for about $200 on NewEgg.com...
And it's the case I'm really considering for building my next rig.
Either way, I wouldn't spend 6 grand for something like this.
GR
It meant to say Cooler Master COSMOS RC-1000.
I was going to ask the same question ^^;
Thank you for telling us what case model. It really, really looks nice.
Yah neither would I, thanks for the info, just found it on newegg too.
It looks like a solid case, just a bit rich for my tastes, although i really like the air flow layout, very different. Speaking from experience - you will really enjoy having the stands on it allowing you to run cords strait under it if you have it on your desk (too much animal fur at ground level).
More on topic - 6k for a computer is just outrageous, if you are going to drop obscene amounts of cash burn it on something custom like a voodoo or falcon northwest. Or just save your money for a new car...
Today, I just bought that case at CompUSA for $199. It's made of steel and aluminum, is very nice and feature packed.
I can build a 2.5TB HD, 2.4GHz Quad-core, 8GB Ram, Nvidia 512 x 2 SLI, DL DVD Burner, 21" widescreen for only about $2300, so why in the hell does it cost $6,000+ for these stupid gaming rigs?
Labor? lol
Parts -> Shipping from supplier to manufacturer
Labor -> Building the computer
Other -> Tech Support, Human Resources, Marketing, Grunts, Upper Staff, Lower Staff, Chief Exec./Financial/whatever, etc. etc., etc.
It took me 3 hours to build, used Ubuntu, so that maked $6,000 - $2,500 = $3,500 and over $1,000 per hour. I should start my own company! Seriously, ask anybody under the age of 16 to build a computer for you or for tech support.
dual 8800 ultras? Wow what a waste of $$. Anyone with any logic would know to build their own gaming PC and save more than half the money
If there's demand there's always "killing".
yeah i actually just did a custom build with the same case as pictured, intel quad core, 4gbs of ram, 2.0tb of SATA hard drives an 8800 ultra and a few other goodies for about $2900.
Weird that Cooler Master is letting them name the system after the case. Also, talk about lack of creativity.
hmm.. that case is very nice looking but it's form is better than it's function...
my friend bought one and promptly returned it after finding that it raised his proc core temps and hd temps 10C due to less than ideal air flow.
it would probably be fine if you plan on liquid cooling however.
What game is that on the screen?
Still not Duke Nukem!
bioshock
Why do you think it's called Duke Nukem Forever? It's not coming out forever :D
Yeah it's bioshock, great game.
And I agree with everyone else, can build a better machine for much less.
Nice case. Word of warning though, Evesham Micros were placed into Admininstration in early August. This article outlines whats happening:-
