Pinnacle unveils USB 2.0 Video Capture for Mac
Those looking for a simplified way to convert home videos and other recorded content to formats palatable to your iPod, iPhone or Apple TV need look no further than Pinnacle Systems' Video Capture for Mac. The USB 2.0-based device features your basic composite, S-Video and stereo inputs, touts hardware video encoding and onboard compression (MPEG-4), and was designed to operate in OS X 10.4 or later. The box should be available in stores next month for a respectable $99.99.

No Firewire? Sad.
I said the same thing when I read the specs for the 5G iPod for the first time.
I swear I bought this exact device for OS 9 back in 1999. A faroudja DCDi 1080i/p upscaling chip would be a welcome addition to bring this thing into the new millennium. Welcome to 2007, pinnacle!
Max resolution of S-Video is 480p. You wouldn't be using this device if you were capturing higher resolutions. And it wouldn't cost $99.
I bought a USB Tuner/Capture device when I still was using Windows98 and when XP was released just after they never released a XP driver. What a bunch of looser, never bought a Pinnacle product after that.
Damn! Just a frew months ago, i bought the Pinnacle Moviebox 510 USB for Windows. Apparently I was not aware, that I would switch to Appel this month :(
There shouldn't be too much difference, should it?

Any way to get this to work with Mac? Don't want to resell and buy the new one.
eBay.
Wheee, a Mac product with no Firewire, no digital sound ports, no component input, no upscaler, no nothing, all in 2007, all for less than a hundred smackers! This isn't even good enough to transfer ancient *Laserdisc* to your computer. What, you want features? Features start at $1000, stupid, come back and buy our PRO product.
Now that your diatribe is done let me inform you of where you are wrong. Its not a Mac product. It is a Pinnacle product for Macs. It says it right in the abstract and even right on the box of the product.
I am glad there are people like you with time to correct such very, very wrong statements. On a sidenote, it might occur to you that by "Mac product" I meant "product for Mac", and not "Apple product" as you think I've meant, although as you do point out that it's sort of evident from the title and such. Doesn't make the product any better.
Get a Datavideo product instead. Their DAC-200 is pretty good.

This looks exactly like the Dazzle I had a year or two back.
