1Seg tuner, not DMB, DVB-H, or Flo. Measuring just 86.8 × 48 × 12.3-mm, the NW-A910 series player holds up to 16GB of flash memory and a 2.4-inch, 320 x 240 pixel display. The included EPG even allows you to schedule up to 10 programs for recording up to one month in advance for up to 100 hours of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 formatted television inside the device. still supports ATRAC in addition to non-DRMed WMA and AAC, MP3, and linear PCM audio playback with SonicStage doing the sync work back to your PC. Rounding things out are an FM tuner, direct encoding from your CD/MD player, clear audio noise canceling headphones, and a battery capable of juicing up to 6 hours of television or 36 hours of audio. The premium NW-A919/BI (pictured) will sell in November for ¥47,800 while a 4GB NW-A916 should pop for about ¥30,000 ($259).

If I could get TV in the states, I'd get that over an iPod any day. Especially with the recent problems Apple has been having.
It looks like Sony finally got their act together and are finally releasing quality products again..
This is sonys second MP3 player with noice canceling.. the first one had great sound but was rubbish (sonicstage, bad battery life on my ex).. this one looks hot..
I like that this one has a dedicated noise cancelling switch on the top rather than haveing to fiddle about in menu options.
Actually, this is the third Walkman to feature built-in noise cancelling. I don't remember Engadget reporting on the NW-S710 series Walkman models.

If the A919 came over to the US sans the 1Seg tuner and with MTP/drag-n-drop music transfer, I'd buy it in a second and sell my A818. Even if it was still tied to SonicStage, I'd seriously consider it.

Yes, i like Apple stuff but it I would rather this than the iPod touch i think. Although it would be hard decision. Classic Sony styling too, i hope we see a version for outside of Japan.

After they discontinued the NW-S70x series with integrated noise cancelling, I really hoped they released another DAP with noise cancelling. It is so much more comfortable if the noise cancelling hardware is in the DAP rather than outside in a seperate casing.
Very attractive with specs to match.
It's just a shame that the TV tuner is redundant outside of Japan and that there's no expandable memory.
After dozens of so-so Walkmans, this is finally a really cool one. Small, nice display and great design...WANT!

I recently bought a some Sony stuff and man do I like them. I know lot of people have issues with all the proprietary stuff which Sony bundles, but the idea of working straight out of the box is inherent with Sony. The only other company matching the concept is Apple in my view. But, between the 2 I am more inclined towards Sony given its wider set of consumer offerings. BTW, MAC OS and having to use iTunes can also be looked at as being proprietary....

QVGA is the max resolution of 1Seg, therefore there is no point in having a higher esolution. Also yes, this does use Sonicstage, but only because it is a Japan only player, both of the last 2 Walkman's released in the West are drag and drop compatible, as well as supporting DRM'd WMA's.
WTF Sony? First the PSP now this? Why won't you get you A into G and release DVB capable version for the rest of us. Judging by the interest garnered by both this media player as well as the PSP 1Seg tuner, should't it be obvious that if you build it, they will buy? But do hurry, otherwise I will give my money to whomever will offer me what everyone obviously wants.

What's with Sony and showing off red illuminated buttons in their pictures? We all know it doesn't turn red as with the PS3's controller's home button.
Anyway, I don't think product is anything to get worked up over. It has a nice design. So what? It still needs work, but Sony is on the right track at least.

The resolution sucks. The human eye can detect 1200 pixels per inch .. and that phone has what? Less than a tenth of the pixels? That makes it unusable for full HTML web browsing.

QVGA rocks on the iPod nano and the iriver clix though... screens are 2" and 2.2" respectively = sharp sharp SHARP YouTube videos = world peace!

I'm actually reading into this "1Seg" stuff....Lots of "1Seg" Portable TV Receivers popping up, but are there any readers in Japan that can tell me why nobody has released a portable "1Seg" Radio (outside from the KDDI Cellphones)?? Not that anyone but me cares, but I'm a radio geek, and you'd figure with all the audio goodies this has, that it would have it.

Only cowon and sony have great sound ALL across the board. try either pmp and you’ll see what i mean!!! Too bad its not a model w/at least 30gbs.
