Sony teases us with Drive
Sony sure loves to tease, and while the Rolly campaign finally resulted in an actual product, we're still scratchin' our noggins on this one. There's not a lot to go on when looking at the teaser page for the simply-titled Drive, and aside from that delightfully green bow and a seductive "Coming soon" phrase, all we can make out is something akin to a scaled-down treadmill with a turgid windscreen. Okay, so maybe it's just an all-in-one PC of some sort (we can almost imagine a floating LCD behind that ribbon), but we'll leave the real guessing to you.

It's an environment-friendly laser-powered cigarette lighter.
keithwwalker @ Sep 29th 2007 1:33AM
It looks to me that the vertical part of the ribbon is concealing an ultra flat screen device.

Hopefully Sony will follow the fine example set by Apple and introduce a device completely free of any DRM which can be used with any store on the net, can be set up and operated in any way the person who has spent several hundred bucks on it chooses, and doesn't go obsolete within a year.
Oh, hang on a minute....

Based on Japanese engadget site, from meta data of that "coming soon" web page, it is related to
OLED Bravia.

Sony has invented the 'Better Mousetrap'
with bluetooth-wireless capabilities, 16gb flash hard drive, Organic led status bar, cheese odor replication (sorry no slicing) and best of all a taxedermy station so the little critters can become your kids newest friends or implanted with a laser to become an actual mouse computer mouse. The future is now.

Easy, Its a HUD system for your car.
Its about time we get to use our car windshields screen real estate. just imagine, backup cam, video from your PSP200, scangauge (TM) display and of course we can finally tel on coming drivers about the cop around the next bend in the road. (Hmm, if thats not what it is I want credit for inventing it first.)

You are all sadly mistaken. They are reincarnating dear old Aibo!
Steve @ Oct 1st 2007 9:20AM
There's a 3d view of it on the site, and there is a big screen behind the ribbon.
Bizarroterl @ Oct 1st 2007 10:36AM
It's a dual format HDDVD/BluRay deck!
Ummm, well, maybe not.
Bleuiko @ Oct 1st 2007 4:24PM
Did anyone actually clicked into the Sony website? The ribbon gets lifted as soon as you enter the site. It is indeed a thin screen.
I can't read japanese but I think there might be new info on that site.
