BenQ intros the DC-X735 ultra-slim camera
BenQ has been firing on all cylinders lately, dropping more projectors, cameras, and Intel-based MIDs then you can shake a stick at (trust us, we've tried to shake a variety of sticks at them). Joining the fold today is the DC-X735 compact digital camera, a sleek little shooter which looks conspicuously similar to the company's recently release T800. Regardless, the 7.2-megapixel camera does it up with a 2.5-inch LCD display, 3 x zoom (4 x on the digital side), ISO to 6400 (in Movie Mode), MPEG4 video recording, and an SDHC slot for up to 4GBs of storage. The camera comes in "Vixen-red" or "Midnight-black" paint jobs, so you can match it to your handbag (provided your color schemes are based on The Masquerade), and will be available this month for an indeterminate amount of cold, hard cash.

3x zoom? That's so yesterday, people want 6 times or more.
And 3 times includes wide so in reality it's more realistic to say 2 times zoom, which is meager really.
Yeah and they act like "megapixels" really matters. You can have a 100 Megapixels and it wont make a diffrence. Its the size of the chip those megapixels are aligned on. Too many megapixels on a small chip just causes more noise and static with color bleeding over to other pixels...
John M, it's only like 7.2 megapixels.... when they start putting 11+ on these things then we can start criticizing.
"to be available in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific starting early October."
No word on a US release. On the 3x zoom, how much more can you go when the camera is "ultra-slim"? I wish they had a side show to show just how slim "ultra-slim" is.
Try 12.5mm
OK, fair point on the zoom vs ultra slim thing I guess
Let's play...find the grammatical error in the Engadget article!
Come on, guys. You should know the difference between "then" and "than". Seriously.
How can you advertise a camera as "ultra slim" and not put a side profile image of it? Terrible.

that's the stupidest looking lens configuration i've ever seen.
Bet its not as slim as the Casio Exilim S770 or S880....
17.3mm thick, 2.8-inch screen, 8.1 megapixel, 3x zoom also, and a decent focus assist light.
