This defeats the purpose of in ear monitors. They are buried deep in the canal to place the monitor closer to your ear drum and cancel noise as an ear plug. Reverse engineering something that is designed to be inside your ear canal is moronic.
I don't think these are for in ear canal-buds like the Shures or Etymotics. I think these are for the POS buds like the ones that come with the iPhone or the cheap Sonys.
