Shinoda Plasma shows off slim, lightweight 43-inch display
Shinoda Plasma, a venture company spun from Fujitsu, was busy demonstrating a unique 43-inch panel at CEATEC that sports a pixel pitch of three-millimeters and is currently in prototype form. Reportedly, the device is made of "plasma tubes aligned and sandwiched between film-form electrodes," and it is based on the "same light-emitting theory as existing PDP technology." A boon to this, however, is its ability to be made much slimmer and lighter than current alternatives, as the flexible panel on stage was said to be one-millimeter thick and weigh just 1.76-pounds. Check out more pictorial delight after the jump.

I think the design is very awesome, I can imagine it being used in many places. The question is.. is the cost and practicality a good value?
Two words people: Wallpaper TVs!
Imagine several of these linked together and attached to your wall. :3
That would be downright awesome.
(Seems first comment didn't come up.)
But, I was thinking the one practicality for this item would be using these as wallpaper televisions or displays.
It be absolutely nice for it.
Awesome! 3mm pitch. 1920 pixels across. 5.76 meters wide. I need a bigger house!
It would be awesome if they made T-shirt out this stuff. imagine.. no more different t-shirts to choose.. which shirt will i download today.. hmmm...
Best. place mat. Ever. JK...
This would be cool for an automotive instrument cluster (aka dashboard). You could even do something like a windshield overlay if they can get it transparent enough... or sync it up with various cameras and have a panorama display of everyone around you on the road, so you know for certain that the other lane is clear.
This is assuming people actually look, but this is Detroit, no one drives like they should.
Curious as to how this enhances my porn-watching experience. Will have to think about the advantages of a flexible screen.
Gosh...looks like stuff we see on the movie "minority report" are gonna become reality sooner than i thought
