Apple's new metallic keyboard biased against Caps Lock?
Rather than blatantly demoting it, Apple has apparently chosen to snub the Caps Lock key on its newest metallic keyboards ever so quietly. Judging by a video taken by Jonathan Rentzsch, the wired version of the new 'board seems to have a built-in resistance to activating the Caps Lock key. To demonstrate, he quickly tapped the key three times in succession -- mimicking "accidental presses" -- only to find that the device refused to acknowledge his actions. Then, he mashed and held it for a tick, and magically the button was lit. As if that weren't enough, it also appeared that the button would deactivate with one of those "lightning quick presses" that wouldn't turn it on, further substantiating the conspiracy. We know this is a polarizing issue, so make sure it doesn't get too heated in comments, okay?

It's not just the new keyboard design...I got a new (old design) wireless keyboard a week before the new design came out and my caps lock does not stay locked. I thought the stupid keyboard was malfunctioning until I saw this post. My old wireless, looking exactly the same, actually LOCKED in caps. Why have "caps lock" that won't stay locked? Annoying for my work. I have to press the button a bunch of times and wait for a light on the board to confirm I'm in caps. My problems is with passwords that show only asterisks as you type them. Can't say how many times I've had to reenter passwords trying fix or unfix caps lock for characters I can't see on the screen. Very annoying. Wish I hadn't recycled my prior wireless keyboard.
mine works perfect guys..... i can mash it, tab it, accidental hit it, it works as expected
oh and kthx.
UH MINE WORKS FINE!
It is a key that should be removed and replaced with a switch on the shift key, a switch that works as a caps lock (without actually locking down the shift key that has a rather different outcome)
caps lock: are you ready to unleash the fury
...its just not the same without caps lock on...
I can hear Microsoft fanbois saying... "Come on guys we had this feature in Windows for a long time.... It is called Sticky Keys..."
Wait... Does this make me a Microsoft fanboi?
Proof that there is always inovation in many field.

Apple isnt big on ergonomics.
"Oh look, a board with square keys, what innovation"!
(i own a mac, i just think this is a rectangular board with square keys and says nothing about style...)
Sorry Apple you are like ten years bwehind Pc's with this I had a metal keyboard on my anicent compaq back in the 80's. no wonder why you have only 2.5 % of the market in home systems. You are over priced and under powered even with the badly needed PC chip from Intel in your system. Yes Apple nerds your beloved Apples have a PC chip in them LMAO. Gee what happened to Apples "uniqueness" and "innonvation"???? OOOPPP's it was replaced by imitation and disinformation.
