AT&T eyeing overseas opportunities?

While AT&T has directed most of its focus thus far to efforts in the United States, it seems that the carrier could be looking to expand its horizons a bit. Reportedly, the company is currently "seeking a license to offer mobile services in India," and although it's just for 2G, it could seek to offer 3G services if things prove successful. Additionally, there's been reports that Randall Stephenson, chief executive of the outfit, "signaled AT&T's interest in overseas expansion when he took over his current role this year identifying the Indian, Asian and Middle East markets as of particular interest." It's not like this is too far fetched or anything, though -- at this point, who wouldn't want a piece of India's blossoming market?
