Hulk PC mod smashes expectations, makes us green with envy
For common Hulk collectors, performing "plastic surgery" on one of your favorite figurines may not sound reasonable, but then again, not too many of 'em have tried to make a 13-inch poseable monster lug around a PC. Enter the Hulk PC mod, which ranks up there pretty high among the most astounding rigs we've ever seen. The project began with a simple store-bought Raging Hulk, a micro-ATX motherboard, lots of tools and a vision. Some 14 months later, the final creation was complete. We can't begin to describe how much work was actually put into this thing here, but feel free to click on through for a couple more shots and hit the read link to visit the beast's dedicated site.

That is frickin cool
peternj @ Oct 5th 2007 5:47PM
This is the MacPro tower I've been waiting for. Clearly form follows function. No problem with cooling!
Seriously though it really is the best piece of Applied Arts in a long while. Having the hulk hold up the motherboard as though it's been ripped upwards with the Manga trail of cords acting as the finest ink and pen.
Wonderful.
FrankTheCrank @ Oct 5th 2007 8:06PM
No man...this is FUCKING COOL.
This is the GREATEST MOD EVER!!!!
KUDOS to the CREATOR.
risk @ Oct 5th 2007 5:04PM
that is awsome.
Wayne Dixon @ Oct 5th 2007 5:05PM
I wish I had the talent to do something like that. Definitely a one of a kind masterpiece. I'm thinking most of those parts could be upgraded quite easily from the looks of it. Only thing I'd think would be the thing to add would be a DVD+/-RW drive on the bottom, paint it up a bit, then be good to go.
Wokkus @ Oct 5th 2007 5:06PM
You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!
Brian @ Oct 5th 2007 5:07PM
Amen. This thing is inspiring. Beautiful and functional. Love the way the fan was integrated.
Nicky-Larson @ Oct 5th 2007 5:19PM
You are making me Angry......... and the fan Kools him down....
Great masterpiece. Impressive
Wobbly @ Oct 5th 2007 5:19PM
cool idea, however...
i get the effect they were going for, but all of those exposed wires are just unsightly. And umm... isn't the idea of a case to enclose your junk? 'cause that mobo looks mighty exposed to dust/ESD.
Daryl Herbert @ Oct 5th 2007 7:14PM
You can ask the modder to make you a custom version, with Bruce Banner in his lab coat, carrying a Pico-ITX board from VIA. It won't have all those unsightly wires!
tekdroid @ Oct 6th 2007 12:09AM
I'll never understand why they modded you down, Wobbly. Your points are perfectly valid.
+1.
Great how pieces of this mod where modded into a creative scene like this, but the device is totally impractical, on the RMA front :)
Joel Rose @ Oct 5th 2007 5:24PM
Wobbly:
I"m not sure if you get the idea. The unsightly wires are part of the effect that The Hulk is ripping stuff up. It's like he's ripped something apart and parts of it are still connected.
wrabbit @ Oct 5th 2007 5:31PM
This is extremely cool! Hands the best I've seen. Its only problem I think is that it will make all the other components - screen, dvd drive, keyboard and mouse, seem so uncool by comparison that you wouldn't want to "mess it up" by hooking them up.
wrabbit @ Oct 5th 2007 5:32PM
I meant "Hands down the best mod I've seen" :)
Todd @ Oct 5th 2007 5:33PM
Quite possibly the coolest "case mod" ever. I would like to see something similar, but using Hard Boiled's Nixon as the central figure.

That is so much win. As for the exposed wires, I actually like those. The creator of this piece isn't just a geek/nerd/techie, we're talking artist here.
Michael Writhe @ Oct 5th 2007 5:42PM
oooh myyy lord... sweeet.
im left simply speechless.
john @ Oct 5th 2007 5:54PM
respect.
I'm ordering 3000 for our corporate office.
Dead Jim @ Oct 5th 2007 6:03PM
that's the greatest mod i've ever seen.
the greatest.

Sorry, I'm not impressed by something he bought in a store. There's nothing about this that looks hard to do.
kj @ Oct 5th 2007 6:27PM
its the creativity that we're impressed with!
tracknod @ Oct 5th 2007 6:56PM
Did you even go to the site and see the mod.. or are you judging this by this picture... The Hulk was taken apart and motors were added so it moves as well. Store bought or not, it is pretty cool.
Simon @ Oct 5th 2007 6:38PM
wow!! that its just amazing!
Wolfticket @ Oct 5th 2007 6:32PM
Two things you should know: It has a disguised optical drive in the base, and, more importantly, Mr Banner has a motor in his torso that makes him shake the mobo about while the computer is on (!)
shelton @ Oct 5th 2007 6:37PM
that is the coolest thing that i've ever seen, ever.
belial20xx @ Oct 5th 2007 6:47PM
Yeah looks cool also looks like a death trap. You engadget readers remember that poor asian chap whom was big and sweaty?? He rub against it wiht the side panel open and zap asian bar-b-q. Lest hop the guy has a clear case to put in or I feel we will see another bar-b-q decorated in burnt shades of gree.
ARrrrrgh...Hulk zap puny human
jbcaro @ Oct 5th 2007 6:49PM
I suspect that Mr Banner got a BSOD, which in turn made him angry. The rest is history.
Tommy @ Oct 5th 2007 6:53PM
Damn I don't usually comment on here except to enter contests but this piece of creative vision and artistic work deserves another praise. Did you know that the Hulk shakes the motherboard if the computer is on because there is a motor inside him??? There is also a hidden optical drive under his feet. Plus there is some cool lightning effects adding to the WOW factor. Click on the link and then the "construction" section see this piece of creative engineering in action!
Jason C Wilson @ Oct 5th 2007 7:08PM
Anything with Hulk involved is going to get the attention it deserves. Great Idea. The future looks for ideas with someone like him with it. Great job.
ADMINVOID @ Oct 5th 2007 7:08PM
what is the point???
Constable Odo @ Oct 5th 2007 8:42PM
That is really a fine looking computer. Not very practical, however. I don't like the looks of the power supply hanging out in the breeze unprotected.
Hypenotist @ Oct 5th 2007 8:59PM
So Hulk can play Doom, he just needs a really big keyboard for his big ass green fingers.
Joe @ Oct 6th 2007 1:40AM
This is the greatest mod I have ever seen.
ZSX @ Oct 6th 2007 4:56AM
Wonderful, wonderful mod. Very ingenious use of the cabling within the Hulk theme.
Respect!
