Apple to offer limited 3rd party iPhone app support?
Look, there's simply no way Apple isn't eventually going to open up the iPhone to 3rd party support -- it's really a matter of when and how, if you ask us. Of course, the possibility we've been most anxious about is Apple eschewing the open platform philosophy and starting to vend only "certified' apps via iTunes -- which is what 9to5Mac is now rumoring to be the case, reporting that Cupertino has brought some former Sidekick platform developers into the fold in order to whip up a mobile app sales infrastructure for iTunes. What's more, the rumor has it things are already progressing along with EA porting games to the iPod touch and iPhone that very same closed-platform model which would leave Apple conveniently in control of app approval, distribution, and presumably pricing. It's anyone's guess as to whether Apple will pull the trigger in just that way, but something tells us the enterprising open source community won't be so easily deterred.

iv just got the iphone but i carnt get the bluetooth to work nor can i get windows xp service pack 2 to my phone and i carnt get the phone to work with my computer it keep coming up with some over file that just macks no sence
I would love to see Sony's Locationfree TV on the iPhone.
I have twenty foreign apps installed on my iPod Touch, (Yes, iPod Touch, The iPhone cost about 900 $ in Beirut, Being a Mac fan, I would get it, but then i wouldn't even use the phone because i hate the unlocking hassle) I'll wait for the next gen iPhone.
Have I ever regretted installing any of them? Once, when I installed Swaptunes, and it made my Music and Movie inaccessible. That problem was fixed within 5 minutes. Was I Bricked by the new firmware? Yes, then, 30 seconds later, i wasn't. Writing a virus for an iPhone requires writing it using an iPhone.... You can't sync viruses through iTunes. Technically, you could send it to your mail, but, it's much easier to write one of these when you are using the device you are writing it for. Personally, I cannot name a single person who uses an iPhone, who dislikes it so much, that they would write a virus for it. I'm a student here, in other words, I'm entirely American, (well, technically, i'm Czech, Greek, Swedish... European) I was born in Philly. (No, I'm not fat.... I'm actually really skinny)
With the third party apps, you can do pretty much anything with an iPod or iPhone that you can do with the Mac Mini or the Ibook g4... My G5 iMac is incomparable though, the Ipod definitely doesn't include 3 gigs of ram, and the 24 inch screen is a lot nicer.
