Toshiba's TLP-XC2000U projector runs a 3 megapixel doc camera

Just when you thought boring-looking Toshiba projectors with document cameras bolted on were totally played, along comes the TLP-XC2000U to prove you completely right. Through no fault of its own, of course. The 8.8 pound LCD projector sports a native XGA resolution, 2,000 ANSI lumens and a 400:1 contrast ratio, with a built-in 3 megapixel camera with a LED light to do the document capturing honors, are all well and good. Unfortunately, every other document camera projector built by Toshiba has pretty much the exact same specs, and while the $1100 pricetag here is commendable, we're afraid modern day show-and-tell has pretty much reached a plateau.

I bought a dozen or so of the last years model of these projectors for work, and I have to say I regret buying them. in less than a year 2 of the cameras have failed and the general performance of the projectors isnt very good.

They also have a VERY long throw to them - so the unit has to be quite a distance from the screen in order to get a nice sized image.

the new articulated camera looks nice, but I think my days of buying toshiba projectors has passed.

Instead of a document camera, maybe you can use a regular digital camera that you already own with the inexpensive software called "Snapter" that converts camera photos into scanned documents.

Hi everybody!
A russian based site http://mobile-review.com/ is being DDoS attacked for the past few days very seriously. Somebody dont likes the way they write & give the optimal point-of-views it seems.
Fingers crossed for thier fast recovery.
The sites cheif writer Mr. Murtazin Eldar also granting $ 10,000 for the news who is doing the DDoS attacks. The site is being attacked from august 2007 onwards for a few days. Now the site is down for around a week! This is tragic!
