Folding Chinese PMP rocks NES emulation
It seems like adding a folding screen actually made this PMP larger rather than trimming any size, but other than that, the YDP-G68 pictured here actually seems pretty decent -- you're looking at a 2.8-inch screen, 2GB of internal memory with SD expansion, MP3, WMA, AAC, ASF and MP4 support, FM radio, TV-out, a 1.3 megapixel camera, voice recording, NES emulation, and support for "ten thousand" calendars. No word on price or whether we'll see this bad boy in the States, but seeing as the minimum order is listed as 200 units, you'd better have a lot of sucker friends to get your hands on one.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, you can do this on a PSP, as well as emulate SNES, MAME, SEGA Master system, Genesis, Game Gear, Neo Geo, Atari, ColecoVision, Intellivision, Amiga 500, CPC32, Sinclair ZX81, PSOne, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance and curiously enough, PSP games

I owned and returned a PSP back when 1.5 was the actual firmware and I have to agree.
With very little effort it'll do all that and more.
I've fallen out of it's target demographic and I'm not a Sony lover by any means but the PSP rocks for stuff like this. It really does.
If the thing had any real storage I'd get one again as a PMP.

Wow, judging from the picture this thing seems to be upscaling the NES games and adding polygons to them!

I'll wait for the rumored portable super emu from the gp2x makers, thank you.
If this only had SNES and C-64...

I have purchased more than my share of Chinese Portable Media Players. They usually do what is advertised... sort of. It is generally possible to dazzle your friends with your cheap device. The devil is always in the details.
The video files generally have to be encoded to some off the wall standard that is difficult to replicate using standard tools. The file system is often restricted to 8.3 size file names. Often the files must be put only in one of the standard directories. If you try to upgrade your firmware to that from an identical looking unit, sometimes even from the same company, you end up with a paper weight that cannot be revived.
I am encouraged that many of these devices are now coming with more powerful processors and Windows CE 4.2 net core. Microsoft sells this operating system for about $3. My guess is that most Chinese manufactures probably try to fudge on this as well. If you find a device based on Windows CE it is usually quite easy to bypass the normal start-up files and get the device and add the software and emulators of your choice.
