Except when you're using Vista, when they're bottlenecked by shitastic drivers and drain your battery life (at least, the G8600GT does).
I find it bizarre that my Macbook Pro with less cells than the Inspiron 1520 I returned sports better battery life than the latter (3 hours of gaming vs. 2, similar hardware configuration for both)... While my girlfriend's laptop (I'm not shitting you, it's got a 12 cell) sports 10 hours minimum (at max performance) of battery life, and when you switch it to low performance it nearly doubles (approx. 75% increase).
