Nintendo's Perrin Kaplan leaving at year's end
No shocker here: Nintendo's Vice President of Marketing, Perrin Kaplan, will be joining George Harrison and Beth Llewelyn at the end of this year by not continuing to work for the Big N. After being employed by Nintendo for some 15 years, Kaplan has now announced that she "will be leaving the outfit at the end of the year," but noted that until that day, she will remain "focused on getting a great transition team in place and handling all of her normal responsibilities as well." As with Ms. Llewelyn, no replacement has been named just yet, but we can't imagine the firm wasting any time finding a sufficient successor.[Via GamesIndustry]

TO be honest I could care less. Wow, a CEO or employee is leaving the company. As long as they still make good products (Face it, the wii is a mostly polished and still a good product, regardless of you fanboys), I could care less.

That's a dumb statement.
Who do you think "makes good products"? Its all the employees that run the show. If you have crappy people working there, you will have crappy products.

are all the nintendo execs bailing after getting a huge bonus for the sucess of the ds/wii or something?
Sieger @ Oct 11th 2007 8:53PM
That and I think Nintendo America are moving.

it is interesting to note that two of the three are women. There are very few female executives out there, let alone female game company executives.

She's going off to start "Grot", watch out for piles of clothes on nearby beaches.

Why is this news? I see stories on joystiq and such, which I say who cares. Why the hell would engadget put up a story about a PR person at Nintendo leaving??
Matt @ Oct 11th 2007 10:27PM
not to be mean, but ima have to go with the "i dont care" person- i and im bettin most of you had no idea who this person was till you saw this. Also I seriously doubt that losing 3 people is really going to effect Nintendos products... i wouldnt worry about their products suddenly just sucking because of 1 or even 3 people for that matter- thats silly. and she was doin marketing so nothing really to do with making the products- more of figuring out the best way to sell them to you.

Oh, thank GOD!!! If there was one reason I still questioned Nintendo's logic, it was because they willingly employ that HORRIBLE woman.
Gee, I sure hope she doesn't apply for a job where people need to act their age, tell the truth, or treat their colleagues with respect, because she fails miserably at all of the above.
Reggienator @ Oct 12th 2007 5:37AM
i think reggie is taking her place as VP of Marketing

It's one thing to not care about this article, but must you all make it a point to complain about not caring, just move on to the next article. If you want a site that's meant to be specifically written for you start up your own or learn how to use RSS feeds and filter your articles better.
Why is this news? Well she's a major contributor to gadgets people like us like and use (and perhaps not you, but there are definately many of us out there). Expand your minds a little and stop complaining about everything and just move on. Jeeze.
