I'm British and I can assure you I don't have bad teeth, but since we all give in to stereotypes when we're bad mouthing one another I can forgive you guys. Also, Apple and Microsoft are both great companies and without them Engadget would probably be less of a site than it is now.
I have never been to the US so I can't really comment, my experience is that people are pretty friendly over there. The only thing I have to say is, we both have shitty governments that do nothing for out country apart from take away our freedom. Let's unite in that fact before they take away the internet.

Actually Britain has made a console, a few of them in fact - specifically they ran Linux and even used Linux open source games and .ogg music and theora for videos long before the PSP was thought of. But they didn't fly because Britain lacks marketing muscle like America does. Even Sony and Nintendo know you can't do tech products without America's marketing ability.

Regardless, it could be because not everyone has HD. Every TV made in the last ten years has component inputs. I guess in their eyes, if you have an HD, you can go get an extra cable. Or a premium if you're so inclined.
Of course it's more than likely that they're trying to squeeze some more money out of you.

But about the cars, I drive a newer Range Rover and that thing doesn't break down but it has problems all the time (back when Rover was still Rover not Ford)! Before that a Taurus, completely uninspired, but the thing didn't have any problems.

Congrats to M$'s Xbox team for getting thru the past two years. Console getting to point of dropping price (and not because of price pressure from competitors) is a sign of Xbox ecosystem health to me.
I just saw the XBox 360 Pro bundle with the pack-in games (formerly called the Premium) on a shelf in a Best Buy in Michigan.
No Arcade bundle, but then Best Buy seems to be avoiding the old Core unit anyway.
I have a question that is sort of one topic.
I know the Xbox 360 wired controllers can be used with PC games. Can the wireless controllers also be used? If so what are they, bluetooth?

Michael: the wireless controllers CAN be used with the PC, but you need to buy the PC wireless adapter dongle to support it (it's available at most electronics retailers and costs around twenty dollars or so, I think...)
and seriously, those guys need to get those things off the sales floor. we received pretty clear communication that the arcade bundles cannot be sold until the twenty-third. there's a good fine involved for whoever made that mistake.

Where did you hear that? I find that HIGHLY improbable, and if they were to unite politically in ANY possible way, they will NOT be united under one single government. NEVER EVER. Do you really think countries like Spain and Portugal would gladly unite into a single nation? However it may turn out, I don't even see any remote chances of the European Union becoming a single "country." Rather, I would assume that some sort of political or possibly military alliance could form for defense.
The current political ties between the countries in the European Union do not convince me that they will form a "country" as you say. I think it's as good as it can get and the only direction left is south as far as European alliances.
