Unlike UMPC's with desktop Windows, these are actually a practical and usable device for mobile computing - especially in the car. The software base may be lacking - but that could easily change if the device sells.
I'll certainly be buying at least one. As I don't see anything else successfully filling the gap between smartphone-PDAs and laptops. I want it mainly for mapping and information databases. And for me a 7" instant-on pad is just what I need. There's enough software for my needs already - but I appreciate that there does need to be an improvement. The return of pocket office would be a big help imo.
